Our team provides support across the reform lifecycle including:
- Developing cutting-edge strategies and innovative business cases to support government investments.
- Supporting government decision-making through economic and financial analysis that addresses strategic policy reform and regulatory issues, including market reforms.
This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your skills and contribute to tackling a broad range of complex issues facing our government clients. You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, on a variety of high-impact projects, which shape government decision making. As well as servicing clients locally, you will have the opportunity to gain exposure across the national practice and learn new skills.
Responsibilities:
As a valued member of our team you will:
- Provide insightful economic and strategic policy advice to a diverse client base.
- Conduct data analysis to interpret trends and patterns relevant to government policy areas.
- Utilise analytical models to evaluate costs, benefits and impacts of proposed government initiatives.
- Craft clear, well-structured reports and presentations.
- Play a role in managing client engagements.
- Contribute to business development including the preparation of top-notch proposals.
- Build relationships across EY, with clients and other industry professionals.
What we’re looking for:

- A proactive, positive attitude and a collaborative spirit.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle large datasets.
- A strong foundation or interest in undertaking economic and financial modelling/analysis to inform government decision making including cost benefit analysis and impact assessments of proposed initiatives.
- Experience in advising government on strategic policy issues, or a strong interest in pursuing this path. Experience working in the care economy, is highly desirable.
- Clear thinking and communication skills, with knack for translating complex analysis into actionable insights and communicate findings effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks at once and re-prioritise, as required.
- Australian citizenship is essential due to Federal Government security clearance requirements on engagements.
