Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage geo-environmental assessments, for a variety of projects across a wide range of sectors.
- Develop and implement strategies for land quality assessment and remediation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality consultancy services.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
- Manage implementation of ground investigations and assessments to evaluate land contamination and environmental risks.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior consultants and team members.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business.
- Provide safety leadership aligned to our Beyond Zero values and culture of caring.
Qualifications and skills
- The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Extensive experience in geo-environmental consultancy.
- Proven track record in managing private sector projects and client relationships across all project life-stages (desk study through to remediation implementation).
- Strong understanding of Detailed Quantitative Risk Assessment approaches.
- Strong understanding of environmental legislation and risk assessment methodologies (including UK and international standards such as ASTM)
- Strong understanding of emerging contaminants such as PFAS.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Good digital data assessment expertise.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional certifications (e.g., Chartered Environmentalist, CGeol, SiLC etc.) are a plus.
- The successful candidate will be working within a team of over 70 contamination specialists throughout the UK and Europe, providing strategic advice and innovative solutions to manage our clients’ environmental liabilities.
