The Booking Holdings’ Global Internal Audit function reports directly to the chair of the Audit Committee. The main goal of the team is to provide independent insights, advice and assurance on business risks and controls to senior management, and to drive change with regards to Governance, Risk Management and Internal Controls. Responsibilities:
Drive the delivery and ensure quality of internal audits and reviews through the entire process - prepare, scope, plan, manage and execute - at Booking.com and other Booking Holdings companies.
Manage relationships and drive alignment with key stakeholders including senior management, Risk & Compliance and external advisors.
Contribute to the annual audit plan and the Global Internal Audit Strategy and operating procedures.
Manage a team of audit professionals (internal or external), incl. recruitment, coaching, performance management.
Act as an ambassador for the Global Internal Audit (GIA) function and key contact person for business areas.
Add value by identifying and driving opportunities to improve and drive positive change in governance, risk management and internal controls.
Deliver continuous improvement of audit methodology and practices through the adherence of documented procedures and standards ensuring consistency of working practice and quality of audit team;
Preparing formal written reports and presentations for senior management and the Audit Committee.
Experience and Qualifications:
A minimum of Bachelor’s (post-secondary degree) preferably in Finance, Accounting or Business administration.
CA/ACCA//CPA/CIA or equivalent designation highly desirable.
Big 4 Experience is desirable.
Excellent knowledge of auditing various business operations and risk-based auditing attained through 10+ years of relevant experience working in a Big 4 accounting firm and / or Internal Audit function at a listed company.
Thorough understanding of the standards of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and ability to fully comply with these standards.
Good understanding of IT environments and experience with supporting IT audits.
Strong skills in negotiating, relationship building, problem solving, and timely problem escalation.
Excellent audit report writing and oral communication skills (proficiency in English).
Maximum of 20% travel requirement globally based on the Audit plan and project requirements.
