This role is for aSenior Power to Perf Efficiency Improvement Architectwith a background in CPU/GPU SOC architectures, performance efficiency improvement modes, and general SOC/platform hardware design

skills in the areas of power management, performance analysis, and being able to experiment by changing (HW, FW [eg.BIOS] or SW [eg. drivers]) to prove the ideas/solutions and by running necessary workloads to show the subsequent perf-to-pwr improvements.the following:CPU/GPU architectures, PCIearchitecture and cloud system/platform architecture


Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of technical engineering experience
    • OR Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering,
      Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years of technical
      engineering experience
    • OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering,
      Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years of technical
      engineering experience
    • OR Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering,
      Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience of doing power/perf analysis of CPU, GPU or server/client platforms.

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's/Master's/PhDin Computer Science/Engineeringand/or equivalent industry experience.
  • Understanding ofSOC architecture of CPU & GPUs with focus onpowerefficiency.
  • Understanding of CPU/GPU system architectures isplus.
  • Demonstrated ability to debugcomplex post-silicon issues.
  • Open tolearnnewer areas.
  • Problem-solving,debuggingand troubleshooting skills, advanceddesignand development skills

Responsibilities
  • & Analyzepower & performance efficiency evaluation on CPUs & GPUs.
  • Evaluate pros/cons of differentLinux and/or Windows power management schemesin server workload contexts.
  • Run benchmarks and evaluate performancefor various power efficiency knobs.
  • Provideandprove solutions by working with awide-stakeholdersacross SOC, platform, FW,OSand services teams.
  • Ability to work with open ended problem statements or figuring out the problem statement from large data set of fleet telemetry.
