The Civil Site Manager will be tasked with overseeing the construction of power plants, with a specialized focus on integrating solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and battery energy storage systems (BESS). This role encompasses the comprehensive management of all construction phases, including site preparation, civil and structural works, mechanical and electrical installations, and commissioning. The Construction Manager will ensure that all project milestones are achieved within the stipulated timelines, budget constraints, and adhere to stringent quality and safety standards.
Other Services Accountabilities
- Responsible in assisting the Overall Project Manager for the works related site inspection, supervision, facilitation, and site management including construction planning, scheduling, field execution and administration.
- Responsible in writing and submission of daily, weekly and monthly site report/diary.
- Coordination in all power plant project site civil & electrical related quality inspections and materials site testing assigned. Electrical aspect shall be supported by a dedicated site electrical engineer.
- Responsible in ensuring that Jacobs quality and safety standards are met, and non-conforming standards are recognized to avoid site delays as per agreed project management schedule.
- Review the planning of the Quantity Control/Assurance activities for the project.
- Ensure that the Project quality inspection and test plan requirements are followed: Processes NCRs (Non-conformance Reports), and CAR (Corrective Action Reports).
- Generate, close and sign off related Preventative Action Requests.
- Review the Civil & Electrical related aspects in the Construction Work Package (CWP) with the support of Electrical Site Engineer.
- Review the CWP, resolve any deficiencies, and submit to the Client’s Quality Assurance for information.
- Complete and submit documents to the appropriate departments.
- Interface with the Client’s Quality department members as required.
- Ensure that the Contractor complies with the electrical, civil, mechanical, structural, architectural related approved plans and project specifications by the Owner’s engineer/Jacobs client.
- Conduct and perform QA/QC daily, weekly and monthly inspection, meetings and reports and technical review submissions for project management approvals and other scheduling procedures.
- Facilitate / attend Jacobs/clients and Contractors meetings.
- Facilitate the Contractor queries and provide technical guidance and expertise in project site civil & electrical construction issues in consultation with Jacobs project management.
- Coordinate with other disciplines in project activities schedules.
- Responsible in monitoring the progress of work and recommend project management measures.
- Ensure project site activities are conducted in accordance with Beyond Zero and Jacobs HSE standards.
- Deliver / ensure project tasks assigned are being within budget and schedule.
- Assist in coordination with clients based on the project contract agreements with the project management.
- Comply with Jacobs (JPPI) code of conduct and other corporate guidelines and policies.
- Perform other duties that may be assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Electrical Engineering or related field is preferred, Advance degrees or certifications (e.g., PMP) are preferred.
- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in construction management or a related field. Experience with specific types of projects, such as power plants, solar, or battery energy storage, can be particularly valuable.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale construction projects from inception to completion.
- Strong skills in planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with stakeholders, team members, and clients.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address construction challenges and issues.
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure quality and compliance with specifications and regulations.
- Willingness to be assigned in Nueva Ecija on a project basis.
- Knowledge of relevant safety, environmental, and quality standards and regulations.
