Job Description

You will tackle some of the most challenging problems in the field of imaging and metrology. You will have the opportunity to innovate and develop ideas from their inception, shaping them into viable products. You will be part of a small, talented, multi-disciplinary team working in a startup mode but with the support of a large and strong organization. You will enhance your skills in optical and SEM-based metrology, understand complex systems and designs, and gain experience with advanced algorithms.

Whatyou'll be doing:

• Developing state-of-the-art algorithms for 3D reconstruction of semiconductor devices.
• Develop models to enhance physical insights that utilizes into future product core algorithms.
• Simulating system behavior and optimizing metrological approaches for different customer problems.
• Analyzing experimental results and developing methods to bridge the gap between experiments and theoretical models.
• Being part of a path-finding team that incubates new solutions and paradigms.

What should you have?

• M.Sc. or higher in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Proven experience with data analysis and deriving practical conclusions through collaboration.
• Strong theoretical foundation and hands-on experience with image/signal processing/machine learning / estimation theory.
• SW skills including programing in Python or MATLAB.
• Team player with project leadership qualities. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Advantage:

• Over 5 years of experience as an algorithm developer in a multi-disciplinary company.
• Track record of leading development projects.
• Strong background in physics, preferably PhD – a significant advantage.
• Experience with nonlinear of fitting of theoretical models to experimental results.
• Experience with SW definitions of SW architecture..
• Experience with utilizing AI generative models and architectures (for example using PyTorch or TensorFlow).

The high sensitivity requirements from imaging systems will motivate you to combine your physics insights together with advanced algorithm concepts. You'll enjoy collaborations with academic institutions, as well as with other engineering teams in order to integrate these technologies into Applied Materials next generation products.

• Concept and feasibility tests: theory development and simulations, design of experiments; run hands-on experiments; perform data analysis; algorithm development; and finally, present recommendation to the management
• Support the transition from a concept to a product
• Constantly stay in sync with the latest developments in the industry and academy

What you should have?

• Physics or Electrical engineering – PhD. or MSc. + experience in a related industry. Knowledge in optics and/or scanning electron microscopy and/or semiconductors
• Capabilities: Both analytical & experimental in physics/engineering. Algorithm and programing capabilities
• Good communication skills in Hebrew and English
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team
