Job Purpose

As a Front-End Engineer with the ICE Simplifile Submitter Team, you will apply your knowledge of software development methodologies, best practices, problem solving and industry experience to work with the team in maintaining, refactoring and evolving the eRecording submitter workflow and developing necessary supporting tools. Your work will primarily be with the front-end portion of the Simplifile SAAS platform technology stack.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for assisting with all phases of the project life cycle including implementation, programming, testing and maintaining software systems.
• Help build high-quality, innovative, and fully performing software that complies with coding standards and technical design.
• Ensure high quality code via design reviews, code reviews and unit test coverage.
• Support process improvements which guide development activities.
• Work with the product organization to identify scope of work and feasible timelines, prioritize work, and allocate available resources.
• Solve straightforward problems in development and provide solutions based on technical standards, practices, and existing precedents or procedures.
• Work effectively with members of the team, gaining understanding of development processes.
• Frequent interaction with team and management to resolve issues or inquiries related to development; improve processes and procedures where possible.

Knowledge and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years’ experience with relevant software stack and processes.
• Experience in JavaScript programming language.
• Experience with front-end web technologies, preferably Angular .
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS
• Familiar with modern software development tools and processes.
• Familiar with backend technologies, such as Java and MySQL a plus.
• Detail-oriented and good organizational skills.
• Great communication skills.
• Able to work in a team environment.
• Able to communicate and navigate effectively with internal and external customers to resolve technical issues and collaborate on new projects and integrations.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and enhance complex data driven automated tests and framework to support code drops in various environments for development, test and build deployment teams
• Execute, update, and maintain existing test automation frameworks, solutions, and test scripts
• Plan, design and build new automation to support new builds and releases
• Produce clear and meaningful automated reports to document test results for each execution
• Collaborate with Development and Automation Lead and other team members to continuously refactor and improve automation framework for reusability, stability, and speed
• Work closely with Developers, QA, and other project team members to analyze test results, locate problems, identify root causes, and develop solutions
• Document clear and detailed defect reports including steps to reproduce actual and expected results
• Proactively work with Product Owner and Business Analysts to build use cases and test scenarios for testing and automation
• Proactively work with Development team, Product Owner, and Business Analysts to triage defects, and follow up for resolution.
• Coordinate with other global team members on features and issues for continuous delivery

Knowledge and Experience

• Bachelors or master's in computer science or similar experience
• 5-6 Years of working as dedicated QA Functional Engineer focused on Restful API (Application Programming Interface) testing and Microservices
• 4+ years of experience with functional and automation testing on UI (User Interface) applications using Selenium
• 4+ Years of Test Development experience with Java, TestNG and Maven
• 2+ Years of experience working with GitHub and Jenkins in a CI/CD environment
• Must have experience working with JIRA for Agile Development, Defect Management and Test Case Management
• Must have experience with Logging tools such as Splunk, Kibana, etc.
• Must have in-depth knowledge of using TestNG, Maven and Jenkins
• In-depth experience with agile testing methodology
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and excellent troubleshooting/problem solving skills to address complex technical problems
• Team player with strong communications skills, excellent organizational and planning skills, and ability to work on multiple concurrent tasks
• Demonstrated knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and manual testing
• Mortgage lending experience and demonstrated knowledge within the mortgage industry experience is a plus
