SAP’s cloud strategy provides comprehensive private and public cloud infrastructure and related service offerings for a wide range of requirements.
We’re looking for a Senior / Principal Cloud Architect who has the qualifications and business acumen to act as primary point of contact for all strategic and technical topics in the cloud context from a customer perspective and works closely with other internal organizational units.

YOUR PROFILE

• Several years of relevant job experience, e.g. professional experience as SAP Technology Consultant (f/m/d) or SAP Technical Architect (f/m/d) with profound knowledge in at least one of the following technical domains:
• SAP cloud landscapes, SAP infrastructure, integration, or development
• Very Good understanding of SAP technologies (solutions, platforms, interoperability, interdependencies etc.) plus strong understanding of SAPs cloud & clean core strategy.
• Strong expertise in SAP architecture, including SAP S/4HANA and cloud solutions.
• Very good knowledge about cloud technology & migration concept from a technical perspective.
• Experiences in upgrade / migration, provider transition or global roll-out projects.
• High competence in adoption and consumption of the cloud portfolio across product categories focused to SAP Cloud ERP / RISE with SAP and SAP BTP.
• Ability to plan, run, and support workshops / meetings with internal and external clients particularly with regard to conduct thorough assessments of existing SAP landscapes and identify optimal migration pathways.
• The handling of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or the SAP Enterprise Architecture Framework is familiar to you.
• Strategic thinking, willingness to learn, and entrepreneurial understanding is a must have.
• Fluent verbal and written communication, including presentation skills, in German and English.
• Willingness to travel (national & international).

Any of the following is a plus:

• Experience with “RISE with SAP” is considered as an asset.
• Professional training and certification (e.g. SAP Enterprise Architecture Framework featured by LeanIX EAM, SAP Certified Professional-Enterprise Architect, TOGAF).
• Familiarity with SAP LeanIX and / or SAP Signavio or expert knowledge in another enterprise architecture management tool.
• Cybersecurity & Compliance expertise is an advantage.
• Technology Certification(s) is(are) beneficial.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

• Act as a trusted advisor in safeguarding and optimizing the adoption and consumption of digital innovation of SAP-centric solutions at Customer

• Management of complex customer relationships and PE engagement(s) on assigned account(s) within Federal, Department of Defense, State, Local, Education, Healthcare (SLED) public, and/or private sector customers who engage in MaxSecure or associated contracts from NS2 (SPSLE/SES).

• Gathers insights about the customer’s business and roadmap with SAP as a basis for a successful engagement delivery.

• Directly advises the Customer on solution operations to support business continuity

• Leads Premium Engagement Steering Meeting to align and report SAP’s involvement and activities at the customer.

• Maintains and updates an accurate view of PE Time Actuals/Revenue forecasting (TQM, Expert Service Days and/or Expert On-Demand Days) on a weekly basis in NS2 financials (ECC).

• Identifies strategic opportunities for developing the Premium Engagement.

• Manages the PE Customer engagement service plan and works with Customer and SAP Center of Expertise (CoE) to plan, schedule, and deliver on committed days/services

• Participates and contributes to SAP Virtual Account Team (VAT) meetings to stay informed of Customer environment, opportunities, and issues/challenges

• Takes a proactive approach to managing PE engagement plan and services at Customer, and is the primary Point of Contact for managing Customer escalations; during and outside of normal business hours, as required

• Works with NS2 Secure Support and the PE Backoffice, including Mission Control Center (MCC) to resolve customer tickets and/or other related incidents identified on the engagement

• Prepares and submits weekly status PE status reports to Customer and NS2 PE Shared Mailbox

• Drives Engagement Planning to ensure SAP’s involvement in relevant areas and initiatives at the customer.

• Manages stakeholders on a continuous basis to establish a long-term, trusted customer relationship.

• Identifies risks to avoid harm to customer’s business.

• Directly advises the customer to provide guidance and to be regarded as trusted advisor.

• Ensure quality of outcome reporting to demonstrate the value of the engagement to the customer.
• Must be able to travel up to 80% or as needed per the customer

WORK EXPERIENCE

• Requires 10+ years of work experience in business software implementation consulting and/or support.

• Requires 5+ years of work experience managing or delivering SAP engineering, maintenance, or maintenance related services; and

• Demonstrated experience in expert level customer facing communication and presentation skills with executive level.

• Demonstrated experience in moving on-premise software to cloud, cloud migrations, IAAS, PAAS, and/or SAAS solutions.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Advanced SAP AGS certifications or delivery experience as a Principal TQM (Preferred)

• Prior experience in ERP software implementation (Required)

• Prior experience in software services sales, contract management and/or negotiations required; and

• Expert knowledge of the SAP Maintenance Portfolio, its value and delivery, including SAP Enterprise Support, SAP Standard Support, SAP Product Support for Large Enterprises, SAP MaxAttention, and SAP ActiveEmbedded.

What you’ll do:

As a
Principal Enterprise Architect,you will develop a comprehensive enterprise architecture model for our customers aligning with their enterprise goals, collaborate with virtual account teams (VAT) as a transformation partner. You will drive the value realization and the solution adoption and lead activities such as:

• Guide customers through their cloud journey (with special focus on adopt and derive), starting with Enterprise archetypes and scaling digitally.
• Provide enterprise architecture guidance using RISE with SAP methodology and Clean Core principles to ensure that every customer benefits from SAP‘s cloud qualities.
• Act as the Transformation Partner for the CIO or other CxO, driving architecture effectiveness.
• Support adoption, identifying and mitigating technical adoption risks.

• Experience delivering enterprise business transformation projects and aligning customer priorities with target architecture and roadmap.
• In-depth knowledge of the SAP Solution Portfolio and Enterprise Architecture Framework (North Star).
• Experience with Business Technology Platform components (application development, automation, data and analytics, integration, AI) and practical experience with S/4HANA applications.
• Strong understanding of Cloud & Clean Core Strategy, familiarity with SAP LeanIX, Signavio, and Cloud ALM.
• Knowledge of SAP's Business AI roadmap, including identifying use cases and piloting AI-driven solutions to enhance business processes.

Must-Have Requirements:

• 10+ years’ experience in customer facing roles
• Experience in supporting the customer in complex digital transformation journeys in delivery roles such as project manager, IT architect, functional consultant, application expert, process expert, etc.
• Knowledge of SAP Enterprise Architecture Framework and Toolset, and experience with BTP components and services such as application development, automation, data and analytics, integration, and AI capabilities.
• Proficiency in Clean Core principles.
• S/4HANA technical or/and SAP S/4HANA application/functional knowledge/experience.
