• ou will work on projects to design, build and test high quality software solutions to meet business needs
• You will undertake a range of assessments at the end of your academic modules
• You will also create a portfolio which will capture the knowledge and skills you will develop throughout the programme and in the workplace
• You will also complete a final year work-based project which will bring together your accumulated knowledge. The portfolio and project will contribute towards your End Point Assessment for the apprenticeshipstandard.

As a Lead Developer you’ll participate in many aspects of the software development lifecycle, such as design, code implementation, testing, and support. You will create software that enables your clients’ hybrid-cloud and AI journeys.

Your primary responsibilities include:

• Development and implement front-end and back-end applications using Scala.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design develop and test applications that meet business requirements.

• Contribute to decision-making and improvement ideas.
• Communicate effectively with cross functional team translating technical concepts into clear and understandable language.
• Actively participate in customer craft communities sharing IBM best practices and thought leadership.

Knowledgeable on design, creation and execution of functional and/or non-functional test cases;

As part of the Graduate Associate programme, you will complete a training plan incorporating blended e-learning, virtual classroom, and practical learning approach in IBM technologies. Your technical training will be matched to support you in your first assignment.

After you complete the Associate training programme, you will have acquired new skill sets and will be able to join a client project where your role will involve some of the following:

Design, develop and test a new, modern cloud-native application or support a legacy application, with code management, troubleshooting and tuning.

Translate software requirements into working and maintainable solutions within new or existing application frameworks, working closely with clients and IBM teams.

Maintain and improve code quality, enabling reusability and automatization of services – from applications through to cloud infrastructure.

Create Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to support communication between systems, using API gateways and event services.

Automate testing and supporting Continuous Integration and Development pipelines, including implementing security operations tooling.

Implement data engineering and warehouse services on Cloud.

Configure enterprise applications to support new innovative client services
