Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, Finance, Accounting, Law, Taxation, or a related field

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Delivery of technically complex and demanding consulting projects, ensuring technical excellence and high-quality client service
• Collaborate with other service lines, geographies, and diverse work groups to build advisory services, related opportunities, and long-term relationships
• Optimize efficiency of processes via usage of innovative approaches and digital solutions
• Manage client engagements, monitor progress and deliverables, implement standardized processes, resolve or escalate issues as appropriate, and drive performance-improvement solutions
• Assist partners in generating new business opportunities, building long-lasting client networks, and growing the client base in the region through marketing and business development initiatives
• Create, lead, retain and motivate high-performing teams, fostering a positive learning culture, and coaching team members to aid their development

Responsibilities

• Conducting risk-based internal audits across various business processes
• Performing design and operating effectiveness testing of internal controls
• Supporting clients in assessing gaps against leading frameworks (COSO, IIA etc)
• Developing recommendations to strengthen governance, risk management and control environment
• Preparing clear working papers, audit findings and client-ready reports
• Participating in walkthroughs, interviews and control validation sessions
• Assisting in the development or enhancement of risk and control matrices, policies and procedures
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams and helping guide junior staff
• Contributing to proposals, presentations and other business development activities

Requirements

• 2–4+ years of relevant experience in internal audit, internal controls or risk management
• Strong understanding of core business processes such as Procurement, HR & Payroll, Finance, Sales, Treasury etc
• Experience with walkthroughs, control testing and developing audit documentation
• Familiarity with COSO frameworks and Internal Audit Standards
• Fluent English and Russian
• University degree in finance, accounting, economics, business or related field
• CIA, ACCA or similar certifications (completed or in progress) are an advantage

As a Senior or Manager you’ll work with many of the world’s largest organisations, fastest-growing companies and private equity firms on some of the most complex deals in both Canada and global market, across a broad variety of industries.

Your key responsibilities

• Manage and participate in SPA advisory engagements for acquisitions or disposals by private equity investors, funds, or strategic corporate clients. This includes working closely with clients, their bankers, and legal advisers, and performing tasks such as cash, debt, and working capital analysis, pricing schedule preparation, and financial reviews of the SPA and Completion Accounts.
• Advise clients on transaction mechanisms and financial analysis by providing insights on the most suitable purchase price mechanisms, analysing financial results through diligence findings and interviews, and supporting negotiations with clients to agree on detailed and compelling outputs.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal contacts and external clients to develop a portfolio of high-value projects, and collaborate with other EY service teams to deliver an integrated approach to clients.

• Possess a bachelor or master degree in accounting, business, finance, or economics, and be a CPA or CA, CFA, CBV, or an international equivalent.
• Senior
  • have at least 3 years of experience in a professional services or chartered accounting environment, or in a financial performance and analysis or mergers & acquisitions role at a corporate organisation.
• Manager
  • have at least 5 years of experience in a professional services or chartered accounting environment, or in a financial performance and analysis or mergers & acquisitions role at a corporate organisation.
• Demonstrated ability to quickly develop, build, and manage relationships with multiple clients and teams, both external and internal. Experience working with senior stakeholders on multiple engagements in a Transaction Diligence role or mergers and acquisitions environment.
• A keen interest in understanding businesses, transactions, and deal value drivers. Passion for client service excellence, attention to detail, and the ability to grasp complex issues and explain them clearly to non-accountants.
• The successful candidate must be willing and able to travel within Canada and US.
• This role involves interaction with clients operating nationally and globally. Bilingualism in both French and English is therefore a requirement of this role.
