As a Finance Transformation Consultant, you’ll use your experience and knowledge in Finance, industry and technology to help deliver greater insight – delivering functional efficiencies as well as transforming the role of finance in our clients’ businesses. You’ll be developing innovative, sustainable ways to improve the management of people, processes and systems, working alongside other finance professionals in high-performing teams.

Skills and Attributes for success

You should have Consulting experience in Finance Transformation, within the Financial Services domain/industry:

Passion in providing added value management consulting services for clients across various sectors in a high quality and realized value.
Finance experience cross functionally as part of an extended ecosystem to enable new business models and value creation
Knowledge in process optimization across Procure-To-Pay (PTP), Order-To-Cash (OTC), and Record-To-Report (RTR)
Experience in business process reengineering and designing operating models for finance functions.
Experience in Public Financial Management covering budget preparation and execution, revenue assurance and cost optimization areas.
Proven experience in leading teams to deliver high quality deliverables for key engagements / clients within various sectors; Government /Energy / Utilities sectors.
Good understanding of Digital Finance and ERP implementation methodologies through proven experience of SAP or Oracle implementation projects
Ability to take develop / upskill team members to transform finance talent into a sustainable workforce.
Reduce finance function costs through new technologies, disruptive technologies and automation
Willingness to travel across MENA on regular basis for client services.

To qualify for the role, you must have

6-8 years of relevant working experience in finance / consulting
MENA based experience (preferred)
Strong People Management and Leadership Skills
Effective communication and presentation skills
Ability to generate business deals and make business proposals
Develop and maintain relationship at C-suite level

Ideally, you’ll also have

A Master’s Degree and/or CIMA, ACA, ACCA, CPA, CA professional qualifications
Willingness to travel extensively across the region

To qualify for the role, you must have

About the role

As Associate Director Legal Ix, you will:

Your experience and qualifications

Essential Functions of the Job:

The Tax Senior:

assists in training and motivating Staff 1 and Staff 2 personnel and client serving associates;
assists in the preparation for and/or delivery of marketing initiatives as a representative of EY as required by management;

timely and accurately reports time spent on each engagement.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

Knowledge of tax compliance related issues for Barbados and the territories comprising the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States;
With respect to tax advisory matters, be able to research complex tax issues using statute, case law and practice, and apply results to specific client needs and be able to draft and review memoranda or opinions dealing with complex matters for submission to management for review;
Determine all information required to ensure/complete accurate tax compliance products within the budget. Formulate a plan to gather/communicate information. Determine areas of exposure and adapt to challenges in the compliance process;
Provide timely and high-quality services and work products that exceed client expectations;
Help to develop and guide staff and other junior tax professionals by providing effective performance feedback and ensuring team responsibilities are consistent with skills and developmental goals;
Build on technical competence by keeping up to date on trends, developments and technical authorities and apply them to moderately complex situations;
Demonstrate professionalism through a positive and cooperative attitude and maintain the confidential and proprietary nature of client relationships and related work products;
With respect to tax compliance matters, be able to analyze financial statements to determine the items to be adjusted in the preparation of the tax computation, returns and tax provisions and be able to apply the relevant tax legislation for the respective territories and relevant accounting standards in tax disclosure; and Seek to effectively review and resolve outstanding issues/matters arising before providing files for manager review.

Supervision Responsibilities:

The Tax Senior generally works under the guidance of a Tax Manager but may also be called upon to work directly with Senior Managers or Directors within the Tax Department. Each of these Supervisors may assign work to the Tax Senior and review the work product.The Tax Senior would assist in guiding the junior staff within the Tax Department.

Other Requirements:

The Tax Senior may be required to work overtime in the weeks leading up to filing deadlines. As such, it is anticipated that, subject to certain exceptions, leave may not be freely available at this time.

A Master's degree in tax law or fiscal economics.

Experience:

At least 3 years of relevant experience within a similar role, with exposure to tax compliance and/or advisory work.
Working knowledge of current and emerging tax issues, with the ability to apply knowledge.
Working knowledge of tax laws.
Commitment to learning and improvement and excellent communication skills.
General knowledge or coursework in tax laws.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving ability.
Strong written and verbal communication skills (Dutch & English).
