THE ROLE:
You will be responsible to drive continuous improvement in order to increase operation, availability and efficiency. As a Senior Database Consultant, you will be responsible for the database operations, collaborate with virtual teams for day-to-day operations and drive projects.
- You will be acting as SME (Subject Matter Expert) for Database topics (High Availability/ Backup and Recovery/ Performance Troubleshooting/ Upgrade (Automation)/ Security)
- You will contribute to daily operations in handling priority incidents
- Drive automation improvements for the topics that you own as SME
- Internal stakeholder alignment for bringing enhancements on the topics
- Work on pattern analysis for continous improvements
- Contribute to DB on-calls based on rotation during APJ on-call shift hours.
WHAT YOU BRING:
- Good knowledge in SUSE Linux, RHEL (beneficial)
- Exposure to automation tools/ scripting or processes
- Very strong experience in DB operations (HANA/ ASE),
- Strong understanding of all critical activities in Database
- Experience in handling operational on-call.
MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS:
- 10 + years in customer experience and operational roles, with experience in handling incidents and service requests.
- Good experience in High availability (HSR), Backup and Recovery, Database admin operations like table distribution, partitioning, upgrade etc.
- Troubleshooting performance issues and tuning SQL queries during performance regressions.
- Understanding of Database security concepts.
- Excellent communication skills (in English)
- Professional training and certification (C_HANATEC or equivalent), having certification on any Hyperscaler is beneficial.
