  • Lead and drive troubleshooting on Customer reported issues.
  • Isolate Product issue at hardware/software level, replicate customer environments in lab, own and document communication among customers, engineering and provide final fix.
  • Be a customer advocate for timely resolution of the problems reported, understand the environment/network and impact on business.
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of the infrastructure and technologies that are present in customer’s network profile; including their network topology, features, configurations, and service history, which results in faster resolution.

Primary Skills required:

  • Excellent Customer handling and communication (verbal and written) skills

Thorough understanding of -

  • Layer 3 - IP and related technologies (ICMP, TCP, GRE, QoS, VRRP) IP routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, ISIS)
  • Layer 2 technologies (Ethernet, 802.1q/p VLAN, BFD, STP, RSTP, ARP, LACP)
  • Multicast protocols [IGMP, IGMP-snooping, PIM]
  • MPLS, L2 and L3 VPN, Traffic Engineering, LDP, RSVP, Segment Routing, VPLS.

Prefer to have understanding/Exposure/Expertise in one or more areas :

  • Advanced Multicast technologies- NG-MVPN, Draft Rosen
  • Advanced Datacenter technologies- MC-LAG, VxLAN, EVPN
  • Perl/Python/Unix/Expect scripting

Following candidates having any of following experience will be preferred and minimum experience criteria may not apply -

  • 2+ years extensive JUNOS experience OR minimum 2+ years’ experience in Troubleshooting Datacentre networks, Enterprise core networks.

Key responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:

· This role requires you to be a customer advocate within Juniper and be a single point of contact for the customer for all post-sales service needs

· Stay in alignment with the customer and accounts team concerning the services sales and delivery.

· Help support cases resolved as per SLAs and expedite/escalate critical issues among Juniper technical support teams. Provide relevant technical inputs to facilitate and expedite escalated problem resolution.

· Proactively escalates and brings people with required expertise together to bring critical and important issues to closure.

· Engages on the major projects for service requirements, risk management, and expectation setting with the account team, partners, and customers.

· Conduct Periodic reviews with the customer on Juniper service delivery metrics, SLA, and quality.

· Establish a customer-specific operational status and reporting framework (preferably using ITIL), and lead in the delivery and presentation of status reports.

· Uses technical knowledge to review and assess open software defects. Discovers potential risks associated with the deployment plans and partners with the customer to develop mitigation plans.

· Assist the customer in making use of proactive consulting services such as technical analysis and recommendations (Impact assessment and analysis, health check analysis, software upgrade analysis, config review, etc…)

· Partners with Customers in conducting periodic Juniper product health checks and Configuration/Design reviews to identify potential improvement areas. Based on the evaluation make a relevant recommendation to optimize operational performance concerning design/topology/configuration.

· Reviews and evaluates network change plans and assists in the planning of new feature implementation and product deployment. Allies with internal teams to resolve identified risks in software.

· Engages with Juniper engineering teams to improve potential quality issues with products.

· Document and maintain customer network solutions knowledge and educate other internal Juniper resources for a better support experience.

Skill specifications

Knowledge and experience of the newest technologies such as Segment Routing, Traffic engineering, DC switching, VxLAN, EVPN, SD-WAN & Wireless is a plus.

Experience working in large enterprises, Network service providers have added advantage.

ITIL Framework process knowledge will be an added advantage.

Experience and desire to work on automation will be valuable in long run.

Qualification and Experience:

We prefer candidates with bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronic Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent. A Business degree such as MBA would be an advantage.

8+ years experience in designing, implementing, and solving technical problems of the state-of-the-art Datacenter, IP/MPLS- Networks. High exposure to network operations environment. Ability to operate independently, including management of priorities in unstructured environment.

Key Responsibilities :

· Become the dedicated focal technical support contact and handle high priority issues for a limited number of Advanced Services customers, on specific Juniper Networks Routing products ( SRX High end and Low end series , Virtual SRX )

· Gain in-depth knowledge of the Juniper infrastructure and technologies that are present in assigned customer’s network profile; including their network topology, features, configurations, and service history, which results in faster resolution.

· Work closely with other Global Services(GS) teams to ensure knowledge share of the customer’s networks, issues and solutions. Keep GS management informed of all sensitive issues

· Provide necessary support to the Service Managers for high profile technical escalations , Involvement in conference calls and/or face to face customer account meetings to discuss technical escalations.

· Develop and maintain skills in his/her core products and technologies and highlight any need for training as the customers networks evolve.

· Work with various technical teams within Juniper Networks regarding new products and feature improvements for reliability, availability, and serviceability.

· Contribute to technical documentation (White Papers, FAQs, Solutions) for internal and/or external use.

· Develop a “Can-Do” attitude and suggest ways to improve the team performance and increase customer’s satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications:

· The candidate will have achieved a level of higher education (Bachelor or master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science or equivalent)

· Atleast 5 years of working experience in the networking domain, [e.g. 3] of these years of which would be spent supporting large IP networks

· Solid working experience in most of the following :

TCP/IP, Subnetting, IP Packet flow, OSI layers

Security Technologies :

VPNs, IPSec, GRE, SSL/SSH , QoS, DES, 3DES, MD5, SHA, PKI , Various Denial of Service attacks, SYN flood , Replay attacks

Concepts of Stateful packet inceptions, Application of Firewalls, access/perimeter control, vulnerability management and intrusion detection

Other protocols: NAT , OSPF , BGP , Ethernet, 802.1q/p VLAN, BFD, STP, RSTP, ARP, LACP , High availability (Clustering) and Gateway redundancy protocols (VRRP)

· Working experience with traffic generators and network protocols analysis tools

· Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, applicable to large and complex network scenarios

· Strong customer management and customer service skills

· Excellent communication and presentation skills

· Language skills: English (fluent – verbal and written),

· Diplomacy and good customer facing skills to understand and effectively address sensitive customer situations

Preferred Qualifications:

· Candidates with experience and certifications in Juniper Products like MX, PTX, QFX, EX, SRX, Contrail will be given preference

· JNCIE/CCIE lab or other security product certified personnel would have a distinct advantage

· Working experience with Operating System architectures (*nix , FreeBSD) , Virtualization, Hardware (CPU, memory, controller (and so on types), Scripting languages (TCL, Perl, Ansible, Puppet, C , C++), Service daemons (DHCP, DNS, TACACS, Radius)

  • Mentor newly hired support engineers and peers in technical areas of specialty.
  • Products to be supported - Juniper Routing platforms (PTX, MX)

This is an individual contributor role. There will be weekend coverage as per roster and pager rotation coverage.

Primary Skills required:

  • Excellent Customer handling and communication (verbal and written) skills

Thorough understanding of -

  • Layer 3 - IP and related technologies (ICMP, TCP, GRE, QoS, VRRP) IP routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, ISIS)
  • Layer 2 technologies (Ethernet, 802.1q/p VLAN, BFD, STP, RSTP, ARP, LACP)
  • Multicast protocols [IGMP, IGMP-snooping, PIM]
  • MPLS, L2 and L3 VPN, Traffic Engineering, LDP, RSVP, Segment Routing, VPLS.

Prefer to have understanding/Exposure/Expertise in one or more areas :

  • Advanced Multicast technologies- NG-MVPN, Draft Rosen
  • Advanced Datacenter technologies- MC-LAG, VxLAN, EVPN
  • Perl/Python/Unix/Expect scripting

Following candidates having any of following experience will be preferred and minimum experience criteria may not apply -

  • 2+ years extensive JUNOS experience OR minimum 2+ years’ experience in Troubleshooting Datacentre networks, Enterprise core networks.
  • Platform Knowledge: Juniper (routers, switches), Cisco, Arista, Alcatel, traffic generators (Ixia, Agilent)
  • Preferred Certifications - JNCIS/JNCIP/JNCIE/CCNA/CCNP/CCIE and other equivalent.
