The role will cover a wide range of Leveraged (both Private Equity-owned and Corporate) and Investment Grade clients in the Consumer, Healthcare and Retail sectors.
As a Wholesale Credit Risk EMEA – Consumer, Healthcare, Retail – Vice President in the Commercial & Investment Bank team, you will play a crucial role in negotiating and developing recommendations for new transaction approvals across a variety of products, including secured and unsecured loans, derivatives, trade, and treasury products. You will lead due diligence and credit analysis to assess the creditworthiness of counterparties, making recommendations on appropriate structures, risk appetite, and grading. Your role will involve structuring and documentation negotiations, as well as ongoing credit risk portfolio management. You will also be committed to personal development and fostering team knowledge by coaching and training members of the Analyst and Associate community. Your ability to balance a commercial mindset with a sound risk and controls attitude will be key to managing the Firm’s balance sheet effectively.

What You Can Expect

If successful, a matching process takes place in the February before you start, whereby you will take part in a selection of speed networking sessions with all available desks within Research. Trading is detail-focused, mentally stimulating and requires detailed evaluations.
Structuring & Origination: within Markets, this is a hybrid group inclusive of Sales, Trading and Banking. J.P. Morgan has a dedicated team of professionals servicing the structured product requirements of our clients. The team offers a broad range of innovative investor products, liability management and hedging solutions. J.P. Morgan offers a wide range of derivatives products to institutional investors, distributors, corporates and private investors.
Sales: our teams help corporate and institutional clients navigate the breadth of J.P. Morgan’s product offerings across Markets and Platform Services, focusing on matching the firm’s resources to our clients’ needs. The Sales community build relationships with clients and package tailor-made solutions that meet the needs of a wide array of clients. To make this distinction possible, salespeople have a wide knowledge of multiple products, and proactively engage with clients and suggest trade ideas. Join J.P. Morgan’s Emerging Markets Strategy team in London as an Associate or Vice President focusing on EMEA EM FX strategy. As an Associate or Vice President in Emerging Markets Strategy team, your primary responsibility will be to formulate top-down and bottom-up views on EMEA EM currencies via research reports and investment recommendations, confidently and coherently delivering these insights to J.P. Morgan’s internal and external stakeholders.
You should have prior experience of researching and publishing on EM FX strategy, interfacing with clients and the ability to identify changing FX drivers to generate investment frameworks. Alongside strong technical skills, commercial acumen and a rigorous forward-looking approach, you will need intellectual curiosity, a strong work ethic and a team player mentality to excel in this role. You will report to the Head of EMEA EM Local Markets Strategy and work closely with the broader leading emerging markets research team (strategists and economists) to also contribute to wider EM research initiatives.
