We’re seeking mid-level design engineers with experience in sediment remediation design for federal and global private sector clients.

Based anywhere in the United States (preference towards the West or Midwest), you’ll work with other scientists, engineers, subject matter experts, and project managers on exciting projects nationwide. You’ll apply your technical experience in design related to sediment environmental remediation with the support of our global remediation technology team. Your analytical skills will be called upon as you evaluate site conditions, determine data needs, assess remedial alternatives, perform engineering calculations, and develop designs. You’ll use your technical writing skills to prepare work plans, reports, and design documents, including design specifications. You’ll learn from other experienced staff who are ready to mentor you, and you’ll pass your knowledge on to others. As a mid-level Engineer, you’ll be directed by Design Managers and discipline leads, but you will be called on to take ownership of assigned tasks. Most of your work will be office-based, but you may spend some time in the field supporting or overseeing the gathering of design data. When you join us you'll be responsible for:

• Develop, update, and manage master specifications for all disciplines, ensuring alignment with program goals, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Develop and update design standards and guidelines to support the program’s objectives and ensure consistent quality across all projects.

• Collaborate with Subject Mater Experts (SME)’s across various disciplines to help guide the creation and update of standards and specifications.

• Standardize specifications to ensure consistency across all projects in the program.

• Ensure specifications comply with FAA standards, local building codes, and other applicable regulations and requirements from Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).

• Conduct regular reviews and audits of project specifications to ensure adherence to master specifications.

• Collaborate with design teams, project managers, and stakeholders in the development and update of standards and specifications.

• Serve as a subject matter expert during design reviews and project planning sessions.

• Provide guidance and training to project teams on specification usage and updates.

• Monitor industry trends and implement updates to enhance program outcomes.

• Resolve specification-related issues during design and construction phases.

You will perform various facilities related tasks to ensure smooth operations, including providing reception services, assisting internal clients, maintaining the office, heavy meeting support, front office security, monitor security badges, and responding to tasks related to facility management and appearance. You will also provide onboarding/offboarding support, assist the local Facilities Lead, and help manage subtenant space and requests.

When you join us, you’ll be responsible for the following:

• Performs civil design calculations computer modeling, calculations, detailing, and plan set production for runways, drainage, and utilities.

• Coordinates project assignments with those of other engineers and technicians in his/her discipline group.

• Work under the supervision of senior staff to produce quality design and plans and interpret plans from other engineering related disciplines (survey, drainage, structural, etc.).

• Review drawings supplied by vendors, clients, and engineers and architects and recommends necessary changes.

• Research design options and documents findings for Project Engineers and/or Project Managers.

• Assists with other duties assigned by Project Engineers and/or Project Managers.

• Attend and/or conduct client meetings, and interacts with clients.

• Provide resident engineering services to include construction quality, acceptance testing and construction management activities as required.
