As a Commissioning & Energy Specialist on our team in Appleton, WI, you will participate in both onsite and office activities to support Commissioning and Energy projects. You will have the opportunity to lead and perform all commissioning related activities to include testing (QA/QC, Functional Performance), equipment and systems start-up, resulting in a safe and functional environment that meets established design requirements and stakeholder expectations. Projects that you will engage with will include commissioning, retro-commissioning and re-commissioning as well as asset management projects. You will have the responsibility of working directly with Jacobs clients, project stakeholders, and contractors to achieve the best possible outcome for the owner/client with a focus on operational performance and efficiency.

As you lead a team of process engineers, you’ll be accountable for the schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks while gaining familiarity with the client’s expectations, scope, budget, and schedule. You’ll work with a multi-discipline, highly interactive team to establish a process design basis, develop an optimized process, create models and calculations, and generate process drawings. You’ll also have the chance to utilize your technical expertise to mentor junior team members and help your team discover what drives them, nurturing their purpose and guiding them forward. This position will:

• Perform conceptual and detailed design for diverse industries such as specialty chemicals, pulp and paper, or batteries.
• Use best practices and industry knowledge to solve complex engineering problems.
• Interface with other disciplines, project management, and the client to provide fully coordinated projects.
• Support field construction efforts, including reviewing submittals, responding to questions from clients and contractors, and performing field walks.
• Perform quality reviews on designs performed by others.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers on basic engineering applications and principles.
• Participate in the development of proposals, budgets, and schedules for process-specific work.
