As an Traffic Surveyor - Enumerator you will be collecting and processing important data on the use of Hertfordshire’s roads and streets network, which informs monitoring, transport planning and scheme designs.

• This is a zero hour contract , workload is seasonal and varies from week to week (but on average we are looking at up to 20h / week, going to 30h during busier periods)
• The workload is generally busiest during school term time between February and November
• Work is mainly in shifts between 7am and 7pm but occasional out of hours or weekend work is required
• Processing of video surveys can be undertaken at home or in our Stevenage office
• You will need a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle

Some duties and responsibilities

1. Volume, classification and directional surveys at both regular programmed sites and ad-hoc surveys
2. Pedestrian and cyclist counts
3. Parking surveys
4. Observation surveys
5. Drive through surveys

• Providing support to the wider Transport Planning and Data Team
• Use of manual count equipment and mobile survey applications - processing video surveys from home or office
• Occasionally assisting our Data Technicians with automatic data collection
• Undertaking point of work risk assessments, and complying with and contributing to Jacobs Health, Safety and Wellbeing policies and procedures, including undertaking any required training, and maintenance of records

• This role is based on a Hybrid basis from our new Manchester city centre office and requires 2 or 3 days per week office or site-based presence
• Full time work with Jacobs is at 40 hours per week
• Some regional and UK wide travel is need
• The ability to achieve SC level security clearance is required for this role

To perform the required commercial functions in support of the Commercial and Project Management Teams. Lead with the management of any project commercial issues on a day-to-day basis liaising with project managers, project controllers, planners and technical leads. Producing the day-to-day commercial paperwork in support of the project.

As part of this role you will undertake the following responsibilities:

• Ensure comprehensive commercial records are maintained for audit purposes.
• Prepare and submit early warning notices, calculation and submission of quotations to Clients, and agreement of all project Compensation Events in line with Contract timescales and as required.
• Ongoing and timely completion of project Early Warning / Compensation Register.
• Review and respond to any contractual issues on project as required.
• Work alongside Project Controls to ensure the cost of projects are fully captured and check accuracy of cost capture information within costing systems. Liaising with Project Teams to ensure correct Labour, Plant and Material records are maintained to ensure the above is achieved.
• Will demonstrate commitment to Jacobs values by treating colleagues, customers (internal & external) and members of the public, with fairness, respect & dignity always.
• Any other tasks or reasonable activities which are commensurate with the role and as directed.
