In joining Jacobs you will:

• Do supervision and check of the Contractor’s work as directed by the Resident Engineer.

• Review and interpret plans, blueprints, site layouts, specifications, or construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations.

• Keeping a detailed and neat diary of all major activities and all important observations on site and on other places where his presence in connection with the job is required.

• Preparation of a daily report to the Resident Engineer on the contractor’s activities. The report shall be presented to the Resident Engineer at the end of each working day and normally before the Inspector leaves the construction site.

• Completion of the various forms, documenting the quality and progress of the various sections and areas of the construction work in accordance with the relevant supervision procedure.

• Reporting of all problems in connection with the electrical works to the Resident Engineer.

• Deal with any other duties as may be assigned from time to time from the RE & ensure we meet HSE standards as set in accordance to company’s policy.

In joining Jacobs you will:

Perform inspection activities for mechanical and public health works during construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning stages.

Assist the Resident Engineer in the review of contractor's shop drawings and reports.

Attend technical and progress meetings, monitor contractor's resource levels, monitor contractor's compliance to design intent and method statements, HSE, Quality, etc.

Participate in witness testing for mechanical works.

Inspect contractor’s work for required quality, schedule, budget and adherence to project drawings, specifications, international/local standards, and safety regulations.

Review contractor’s method statements, procedures, material approval requests, construction drawings and documents.

In joining Jacobs you will:

• Take a key role in overseeing and supervising contractor site works in a large complex infrastructure project.
• Ensure that the requirements of the construction contract are followed by holding the Contractor accountable for daily on-site targets and maintain trackers as required.
• Responsible for carrying out inspection of site works as part of the construction supervision of the projects to ensure that the approved design documentation is safely and accurately implemented on site.
• Set a good personal example on HSE by ensuring Jacobs’ policies and procedures are followed.
• Encourage and support all Jacobs’ and project staff to be actively involved in raising HSE observations and participating in focused HSE inspections
• Participate in and actively support all HSE activities such as incident investigations, HSE meetings, HSE standdowns, HSE reward and recognition, HSE inspections and audits
• Review contractors submissions, ie risk assessments and safe systems of work, and facilitate such documents being in place ahead of subject works commencing.
• Always ensuring the safety and quality of the works, taking immediate action where required and escalating to the Resident Engineer immediately all key issues.
• Monitoring the contractor’s compliance with their ITP’s and participate in witness and review points when requested via the Inspection and Test Request (ITR) process.
• Ensuring the Contractor is working from the latest approved versions of all technical documents.
• Keeping the Assistant Resident Engineer and Quality Manager informed of technical issues or non-conformities on site.
• Monitoring the contractor’s compliance with HSEQ requirements, escalating issues and seeking intervention where required.
• Prepare Daily Surveillance Reports
• Conducting inspections in accordance with the Contractor’s Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) intervention points. Ascertain that work is proceeding in accordance with the Contract Documents and accepted practice.
• Recommends or notes work requiring the issuance of NCR to Contractor’s QC representative. Issues NNC if Contractor does not issue an NCR or remedy the situation.
• Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected in the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working to the Jacobs H&S principles.
• Take necessary care to properly protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of corporate information from unauthorised disclosure, modification or destruction. Never knowingly put Jacobs or client’s information or information systems at risk.
• Reports functionally to the Resident Engineer.
• Supervises and monitors site works, the Contractors Site Inspectors and site construction staff.
• Works closely with Site Engineers, Field Quality Managers, QC Engineers.

The role of ‘Senior/ Principal Power System Engineer’ in our ‘Future Power Systems’ team is one of the components of a growth strategy to position Jacobs to meet the requirements of energy transition activities within the Europe and Middle East (EMEA) region. As part of our team, you’ll be providing a range of services throughout the Power System study projects. This includes Power System modelling, feasibility studies, Grid Code compliance studies, Grid Interconnection/impact studies, Insulation Coordination Studies, technical reports, technical bid preparation, attend the customer meetings etc.

As this is a Senior/Principal role, you will also be required to lead the technical discipline at the senior level, delivering innovative solutions that provide superior value to our clients.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading all the study activities (i.e. support in the technical bid, modelling, performing the simulations & results analysis, reports, client meetings & presentation, technical discussions etc.)
• Work closely with the Team members across the globe in multiple power system studies for transmission, distribution, renewables, and industrial systems.
• Power system studies including, but not limited to short circuit calculations, load flow, protection coordination, harmonic analyses, electromagnetic transients, dynamic studies etc.
• Work with different customers TSO’s, DNO’s and renewable developers across the globe
• Work on several low carbon initiatives like EV, BESS, renewables etc. solutions towards the net zero.
