This role is primarily based in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The successful candidate will be responsible for attending various legal matters, including contract drafting, commercial negotiation, including assisting relevant business lines in resolving queries or conflicts involving interpretation of contracts entered into by, and laws/rulings/regulations applicable to, the company and developing/updating contract templates for customary third-party engagements as well as development/adoption of various contracting and other legal policies/process to comply with laws or IBM requirements.

Providing legal support to various type of corporate actions (e.g. corporate restructuring, M&A, as well as its associated activities).

- Absolute commitment to business integrity and ethical conduct.
- A degree in law and legal qualification in Indonesia.
- Minimum 10-12 years’ legal experience in Indonesia, preferably solid in-house counsel experience with a multi-national corporation (experience working in a highly matrixed multi-national/global corporation will be advantageous) or a combination of experience as private practice attorney and as an in-house counsel.
- Demonstrated ability to influence contract structure and business decision making for the benefit or advantage of IBM.
- Demonstrated success in negotiating large and complex deals in complex situations.
- Ability to handle multiple deals/matters concurrently.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Experience in international contracting matters.
- Excellent drafting and negotiations skills.
- Ability to give advice with an eye as to the commercials of a matter.
- Able to work in an agile, dynamic and fast paced environment, and to meet critical deadlines.
- Strong analytical, communication, project-management, and organizational skills
- Independent and self-motivated.
Preferred technical and professional experience
- Previous exposure to IT-related industry is an advantage.
