The candidate should have expertise in Linux systems administration with deep skills in database configuration and administration (Oracle, MongoDB, EDB PostGreSQL. and other Open Source Databases). Experience in performance, high availability, backup and recovery, monitoring and security concepts is required. Proficiency in Linux (Red Hat, SUSE and Ubuntu) integrated with Docker / Kubernetes, DevOps, Automation and Nginx / Apache are essential for role success.

Primary duties:

• Setting up and configuring internal and external database instances (Oracle, DB2 UDB, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB)
• Setting up and administering container-based data serving solutions and Linux infrastructure in a Hybrid cloud environment
• Create solution assets and provide technical enablement for customers through webinars, briefings, and proof of technology hands on labs/classes
• Ability to provide SME advisory engagements, and Proof of Technologies (POTs) for customers to help compare LinuxONE to their existing or future technologies
• Help customers evaluate IBM LinuxONE solutions (e.g. compression, quantum safe encryption, security, and AI) and help LinuxONE customers leverage these new technologies and troubleshoot performance/technical problems
• Work with IBM and 3rd Party technical support teams to help resolve technical issues utilizing standard support and escalation processes
• Design, create, and maintain automation scripts, workflows, and infrastructure on Linux systems for customer-facing products

• Expert setup and configuration of database instances (Oracle, DB2 UDB, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB) (5+ years)
• Expert problem solver and root cause log analysis (5+ years)
• Extensive experience in Linux operating systems (Red Hat, Ubuntu, SUSE) and infrastructure projects (5+ years)
• Practical experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform), monitoring tools (Instana, Grafana, Prometheus) and virtualization technologies (e.g. z/VM, KVM, OpenStack).
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Linux shell’s, Python and Bash for infrastructure automation and applications.
• Experience & knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and their security/sessions/logging
• Experience in integration with 3rd party platforms/solution through REST APIs
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Readiness to work in US Eastern time zones
• Proven effective communication and presentation skills, teamwork
• Highly self-motivated and resourceful, Aptitude to learn and apply knowledge quickly
• Fluent in English

Program overview:

Duration: 6 months

Working time: Part-time or Full-time (Flexible schedule)

Storage Remote Technical Support - You will have the chance to work with professionals in the following Storage fields: Data Protect, Virtualization & Storage Software, Enterprise Flash & Disc, Remote Code Load. You will monitor the troubleshooting process on hardware/ software failures, installation, usage and configuration. You will collaborate with senior engineers to provide problem determination/ source identification, define and drive action plans.

Networking Remote Technical Support – In these teams you will be join a group of professionals who support clients enterprise level networks based on a number of different technologies- Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, F5, Checkpoint etc. You will together with them analyze a complex environment, try to pinpoint the precise issue and come up with a detailed and reliable plan to fix it.

• Recent graduate or university student with relevant studies as per above dimensions, such as Network technologies, Telecommunications, Computer science, Electronics, etc.
• Fluency in English language
• Able to communicate effectively with a customer-oriented attitude

In addition, you will be responsible for:

• Designing and implementing new features and APIs for digital platforms that achieve user experience objectives and business metrics
• Ensuring high-performance and availability of platforms, features and APIs
• Managing versions and source code with CI/CD pipelines in GitHub and Travis
• Integrating with other existing systems through APIs and middleware layer
• Deploying containers to Kubernetes clusters and managing infrastructure as code (IaC) with Ansible
• Managing digital reporting and tracking requirements to support programs as required, spanning activities and events registrations, form creation, usage, participation, gamification, etc. Conduct analysis of data and trends for executive level reporting
• Developing and managing various aspects of digital platforms related to usability, functions/features and user interface
• Sharing best practices and insights with internal / external stakeholders and gain alignment as needed for implementation and testing of new digital function/features
• Providing oversight for digital experience and governance; making recommendations to increase digital efficiencies, improve or resolve operational issues, extend digital reach, and improve ROI (e.g. digital outage contingencies, digital site compliance, leverage best practices and programmatic approaches, etc)

• Solid experience (preferably 4+ years) as a Software Developer
• Expert in Backend-technologies (Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, Ansible, micro-services)
• Experience with containers, Docker, Kubernetes and Linux
• DevOps knowledge of code dependencies management and vulnerability scanning, GitHub and Travi
• Advanced knowledge of building enterprise solutions with Linux scripting, Ansible automations and a variety of open-source products
• General understanding of database operations and object-oriented design
• Experience & knowledge of how to build and interact with RESTful APIs and their security/sessions/logging aspects (JWT/OpenID)
• Comfortable with setting up and working with web servers (Nginx) and database layer (MongoDB, MySQL)
• Demonstrated effective communication skills with proven problem-solving qualities
• Highly self-motivated team player with willingness to learn
