About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Low-Voltage Battery Engineer to join our team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the improvement and development of low-voltage power supply components and system specifications, focusing on 12V batteries for Internal Combustion Engine (ICE), Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV), and Electric Vehicle (EV) electrical systems. In this position…
Develop and lead E.V. engineering efforts for Recertification, Refurbishment, and Remanufacture (Re-X) with a dynamic cross functional team challenged to develop and implement high-value service solutions. Lead the development, verification and release of Service Unique Specifications, with the support of EPE/OPD. Create solutions to improve the customer experience while resolving quality concerns. Strong multitasking skills and engineering flexibility are a must, allowing for the development for new solutions as the company gains experience in the EV arena. Job is hybrid, with three days a week on-site at FEL in Dearborn. Occasional supplier visits (mostly local) will also be required.

This position is on the embedded software development High Voltage Battery Controls team responsible for the implementation of the Battery Monitoring System (BMS) for Hybrid, Plug-in Hybrid and Battery Electric vehicles. You will have responsibility for implementing and validating vehicle controls software. This position requires a trainable, self-motivated individual with a strong software process or embedded systems background. Ford High Voltage (HV) battery team is looking for a Battery Disconnect Unit (BDU) Core Contactor and Components Engineer who will lead design, development, launch, and integration of new HV Contactors and other BDU components in future model vehicles. The HV BDU Core Contactor and Components Engineer will work with suppliers and engineers on developing innovative solutions to meet the HV battery needs, and vehicle system requirements through DV/PV testing.
