Business is constantly evolving, and more than ever, staying at the forefront is all about identifying and adapting to change. As a Tax Manager, you'll see this first hand by being immersed in the evolving tax environment through preparing and auditing income tax provisions, assisting with income tax filings, consulting on planning opportunities, and coaching and developing staff on your engagement teams.

Your key responsibilities

You'll spend your time supporting client engagements by coordinating day-to-day interactions with clients, reviewing staff work product, driving delivery of services to meet deadlines, developing internal team members, and managing engagement economics. You'll continuously build on technical competence by keeping up to date on trends, developments and technical authorities and apply them to complex situations. Identifying and resolving tax technical issues and sharing insights to improve our efficiency will be a key component. In addition, you'll partner with other team members to help identify new opportunities to leverage to your clients across multiple service lines.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a graduate degree in Tax or Law and approximately five years of related work experience
  • CPA certification or licensed attorney status
  • A background in tax compliance and accounting for income tax and a broad understanding of US income taxation
  • Experience managing budgets and projects
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access and data mining tools
  • The ability to prioritize when working on multiple projects, and the confidence to engage and integrate directly into our clients' teams
  • Willingness to travel as needed, and working in a balanced hybrid environment

Ideally, you'll also have

  • A proven record in a professional services environment
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring junior colleagues
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to adapt your work style to work with both internal and client team members

The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $89,400 to $163,800. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $107,400 to $186,200. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
  • Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
  • Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. As a Senior Manager in Data Engineering, you will design and build analytics solutions that deliver significant business value. You will collaborate with a diverse team of data and analytics professionals, management, and stakeholders to ensure that our solutions meet business requirements. Your role will also involve understanding and translating business needs into technical requirements, ensuring that our development aligns with the intended design.

Your key responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for the effective management and delivery of complex processes and solutions. You will navigate operational dynamics while maintaining a focus on quality and risk management. Your responsibilities will include:

Solution Recommendation:Utilize your strong background to recommend and lead cloud-based and data engineering solutions, addressing complex technical challenges and ensuring optimal performance.

Pre-Sales and RFPs:Engage in pre-sales activities and contribute to RFP responses by developing and articulating advanced data engineering solutions that address client needs and demonstrate the value of our offerings.

Data Requirements and Validation:Define data requirements, manage the ingestion of structured and unstructured data, and validate data using tools and methodologies in a Big Data environment.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A Bachelor’s degree required; a Master’s degree preferred in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science or a related field
  • Typically, no less than 8 years of relevant experience in data engineering, including significant experience in managing large-scale data projects and leading technical teams.
  • 5+ years of experience in the Manufacturing, Power & Utilities, Automotive, and/or Oil & Gas industries.
  • Proven track record of recommending and implementing complex data solutions, managing data pipelines and driving data quality and reconciliation
