Our Tax Accounting and Risk Advisory Services (TARAS) practice assists companies with all aspects of their financial reporting for income taxes including tax accounting, tax provision procedures, and controls design and testing. The TARAS practice is an established practice that has been serving the complex and global tax reporting needs of companies for approximately ten years. We believe that by managing our clients' tax obligations responsibly and proactively we can make a critical difference, and you'll be at the heart of this mission.

This team comprises our most highly specialized resources in the area of ASC 740, provision process and internal controls over the tax provision. As a member, you will work closely with our leaders to serve companies that need assistance with tax accounting for transactions or their on-going tax provision process. As you progress, you'll become a trusted business advisor to your clients while helping organizations grow. You will also benefit from being mentored by recognized tax professionals who include some of the firm's most senior tax talent.

Your key responsibilities

As a Manager, you'll provide clients with tax guidance and consulting related to tax accounting and planning (internal restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, dispositions, carve-out financial statements, GAAP conversions from US GAAP to IFRS or IFRS to US GAAP, share based compensation, financial statement restatements and balance sheet remediation of tax accounts). You'll also assist companies with all aspects of their preparation of the tax provision. Your key responsibilities
As a Senior Manager in our SAP Tax Integration competency, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality tax technology services to multinational clients. You will:

  • Collaborate closely with partners, managing directors and engagement teams to lead complex ERP tax integration projects, working across the entire end-to-end delivery lifecycle
  • Support the associated sales/pursuit process for new engagements.
  • Help our clients leverage SAP technology and related third-party applications to realize enterprise value by improving their tax function (supporting and automating internal and external operations).
  • Be responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously while developing and mentoring the next generation of tax professionals in our practice.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a technical foundation in core withholding tax (domestic and double tax treaty concepts) and preferably the typical WHT end-to-end processes, together with direct tax (provision and compliance) and broad understanding of all direct/indirect tax domains
  • Demonstrate an understanding of how ERP transformation programs are delivered using agile methodology, and what tax input is relevant at each phase
  • Understand key tax processes and be able to translate related data/reporting needs into ERP system requirements/user stories
  • Have experience in SAP S/4HANA (core financials plus related ecosystem applications such as SAP Document Reporting and Compliance (“DRC”), etc.)
  • Be experienced in working collaboratively on a cross-functional basis across tax, finance, and supply chain (from industry roles) or across tax and advisory (from consulting roles)
  • Have a history of contributing to the development of thought leadership
  • Have a proven track record in delivering high quality work in alignment with key business metrics

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A bachelor's degree and/or a master’s degree in accounting, Tax, Tax Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
  • A minimum of eight years of related experience
  • Approved technical certification, CPA license, Enrolled Agent or membership to state Bar or progress to attaining those mentioned
  • A strong interest in technology and its use in business processes
  • Excellent communication and business writing skills
  • A natural flair for problem solving and an entrepreneurial approach to work
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with exceptional client-serving business skills
  • Understanding of the importance of meeting deadlines and thriving in a high paced environment
  • Willingness to travel as needed, and working in a balanced hybrid environment

Ideally, you'll also have

  • Experience defining data and reporting needs for a tax department
  • Experience managing large, multidisciplinary projects that impact tax (e.g., ERP implementations, tax co-sourcing engagements, finance transformations)

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $148,100 to $338,400. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $177,800 to $384,400. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
  • Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A bachelor’s degree and at least 6 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 4 years of related work experience
  • A degree in business, accounting, finance, computer science, information systems or a related discipline
  • Approximately 6 years of experience working as an IT auditor or IT risk advisor for a public accounting firm, professional services firm or financial services company, or comparable experience as an advisor to a financial services company
  • Solid experience leading IT internal audit, external audit, service organization control reporting and/or IT internal controls engagements and assisting with business development activities within financial services
  • Experience with internal audit risk assessments, SOX/internal controls, Service Organization Control (SOC) reporting, tools and enablers in the financial services sector
  • Strong project management skills
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills
  • Excellent leadership, teamwork and client service skills.
  • Willingness to travel to meet client obligations

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • CA, CGEIT, CIA, CISA, CISM, CISSP, CMA, CPA and CRISC certification is desired; non-certified hires are required to become certified within 1 year from the date of hire.
