Skills & Attributes for Success:

  • Over 6 years’ experience in a transactions role within an advisory environment; adept at working independently as well as collaboratively with senior stakeholders across multiple engagements.
  • Proven experience in M&A, project and corporate finance structuring, and knowledge of energy market fundamentals, regulatory frameworks, relevant energy technologies, supply chains, public policy implications and general project development challenges and opportunities.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project finance and valuation modelling in a live transaction environment, deal document production (PowerPoint and Microsoft Word) and verbal presentation skills.
  • Track record of managing and coaching individuals.

  • Providing seamless integrated experiences for our clients throughout the growth and optimisation M&A journey alongside other EY service lines.

Our focus spans various segments of the energy sector including renewable energy generation, storage, transmission build out and optimisation strategies for infrastructure investors, developers and utilities across the mid-market and majors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement innovative strategies for energy sector M&A transactions that align with client objectives while responding to evolving market conditions.
  • Preparation of detailed investment materials, supporting financial analyses and models that assist clients in their decision-making processes.
  • Understanding critical issues impacting purchase price negotiations and deal structuring efforts including a fundamental appreciationof risk and value and the process of how to proactively manage risk.
  • Project manage individual due diligence workstreams and junior team members effectively while ensuring overseeing information flows among key stakeholders.
  • Contribute to business plan initiatives by taking ownership of initiatives and starting to build strong client relationships while demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of their operations.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments and competitive dynamics to identify opportunities to present to clients.
  • Mentoring junior team members.

Skills & Attributes for Success:

  • Over 6 years’ experience in a transactions role within an advisory environment; adept at working independently as well as collaboratively with senior stakeholders across multiple engagements.
  • Proven experience in M&A, project and corporate finance structuring, and knowledge of energy market fundamentals, regulatory frameworks, relevant energy technologies, supply chains, public policy implications and general project development challenges and opportunities.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project finance and valuation modelling in a live transaction environment, deal document production (PowerPoint and Microsoft Word) and verbal presentation skills.
  • Track record of managing and coaching individuals.
  • A strong desire to make a difference in decarbonising our economy with evident passion for the energy sector
  • Strong work ethic coupled with adaptability towards new challenges within a collaborative team setting: resilient and creative thinking is key to overcoming hurdles to get deals over the finishing line.
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, economics, engineering and/or law is preferred.
