This role will collaborate with the GRM Data Stewards, Data Users, Data Owners, and Technology Teams to understand and assess their data, processes, and technology to support strategic data initiatives, remediate deficiencies, and drive business requirements.

  • Consult with data stewards, process owners, subject matter experts, technical experts, end users and other stakeholders to gather information about the current and target state business process, data attributes and data sources, control features, interfaces with other systems required.

Models and Model Systems provide insight into many risk areas, including valuation modeling of residential real estate, loan default, exposure at default (EAD), loss given default (LGD), delinquency, prepayment, balances, pricing, risk appetite, revenues and cash flows.

  • Quantitative Development – Architect, implement, maintain, improve and integrate quantitative solutions on strategic GRA platforms. Outputs include GRA libraries that perform consumer risk model calculations, analytical tools, processes and documentation. Partner in defining, adopting, and executing GRA’s technical strategy.

  • Risk and Capital Management Capabilities – Build best in class quantitative solutions that enable the Retail and GWIM lines of business to effectively manage risk and capital, through the application of the disciplined BAU development process that includes extensive interaction with the FLU model owners and stakeholders throughout the quantitative lifecycle.

  • Infrastructure – Partner in driving forward the infrastructure to support the goals of GRA through code efficiencies, and expansion of quantitative capabilities to better leverage infrastructure and computational resources.

  • Documentation – Deliver concise, quantitative documentation to inform stakeholders, meet policy requirements, and enable successful engagement in regulatory exams (e.g., CCAR, CECL) via automated, modularized, and standardized documentation and presentations.

Qualified candidates must be able to work independently to provide sound economic reasoning, statistical analysis and deliver high quality modeling insights as well as modeling documentation. The ideal candidate is self-directed, collaborative, analytical, and proactive in execution and problem resolution. Specific tasks include:

  • Set priorities related to quantitative modeling in line with the bank’s overall strategy and prioritization.

  • Develop and design best in class models to satisfy stakeholder requirements.

  • Identifies continuous improvement through reviews and ongoing monitoring of models, and effective challenges on model development and validation.

  • Work closely with Technology Team to support model execution.

Required Qualifications:Successful candidates will have a Master or PhD degree in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or similar discipline, and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in statistics, data science, econometrics, and other quantitative analysis.

  • Develops and executes on Enterprise Data Management policies and standards, works across teams to ensure adherence, serves as a key point of contact for all topics related to data compliance, and manages operational elements of the (Enterprise Data Strategy Governance and Operations (EDSGO) relationship
  • Manages data related incidents and identifies, communicates, and resolves or escalates issues as needed. Data inquiries include questions related to data issues, availability of data, and potential sourcing alternatives to inform
  • Develops, manages, and executes on controls, ensuring tracking, monitoring, and resolution of any control breaches with data platform
  • Partners with Business and Technology functions to drive the development of business and functional requirements documents and ensures strategic upstream resolution for data related incidents

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Management, Statistics or related fields
  • Intermediate knowledge in SQL and using tools like TOAD
  • Awareness of AI / Machine learning concepts and ability to implement such strategies
  • Experience in data analytics and interpretation of large volumes of data
  • Scripting experience with any language like Python, Java, VB

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in Sanctions / AML processes
  • Data transformation / formatting experience and able to work with data in different formats
  • Knowledge of Economic Sanctions programs requirements
  • Experience in Global Banking & Markets business process
  • Experience in Sanctions screening applications like Fircosoft
  • Logical thinking capabilities with a technical mind-set
  • Advanced knowledge in using Microsoft Excel and MS Access
  • Knowledge in using Microsoft products Word, Outlook, Power-point and Visio
  • Knowledge of PowerBI /Tableau

Global Risk Management (GRM) leads bank-wide initiatives for management of all aspects of risk, including strategic, market, credit, compliance, liquidity, operational, model and reputational risk matters to support sustainable, profitable corporate growth.Job Description
This role will collaborate with the GRM Data Stewards, Data Users, Data Owners, and Technology Teams to understand and assess their data, processes, and technology to support strategic data initiatives, remediate deficiencies, and drive business requirements.

  • Consult with data stewards, process owners, subject matter experts, technical experts, end users and other stakeholders to gather information about the current and target state business process, data attributes and data sources, control features, interfaces with other systems required.

  • Document and provide definitions for processes and procedures, data models, data quality controls, data lineage, and data dictionaries using industry standard methods including business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, diagrams, flow charts, etc.

  • Analyze information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, segment high-level information into details, and abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding.

  • Assess and identify deficiencies against internal policies and standards or industry best practices, providing formal recommendations and requirements to remediate.

  • Collaborate and partner with technology teams, architects, and other key stakeholders to drive solutions which provide ongoing operational excellence and resiliency to metadata and control environment challenges.

  • Review and provide input to technical solution designs from a business point of view and recommend alternatives.

  • Communicate plans, progress and risks appropriately to the stakeholders and sponsors.


Required Skills:

  • Bachelors or Masters in computer science, system analysis, Information Systems or related field.

  • 1-3+ years of experience with Data Sourcing, Data Wrangling, Data Engineering or similar role

  • Strong process/systems analysis, design and documentation.

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to monitor tight deadlines and adapt to unexpected requirement changes.

  • Strong Understanding of Risk Management and Data Management Principles

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with one of the following areas – Trading, Consumer Banking, Wealth Management, Transaction Banking

  • Understanding or experience of programming in SQL, C/C++, Java

  • Familiarity with databases, such as Oracle, Hadoop, etc.
