The role is within the propulsion team, and the ideal candidate has experience in mechanical spacecraft hardware from conception through flight qualification, with understanding of materials and processes, GD&T, and design to dynamic and thermal requirements. Favorable consideration given for experience developing components, assemblies, and mechanisms for operation in high-vacuum environments. Propulsion background is desired but not required, and the position offers opportunity for a strong candidate to join an exciting project in the field of spacecraft electric propulsion. This is a hands-on role for a highly collaborative individual that combines superb technical and analytical capabilities to convert analytic trade studies to a qualified physical vehicle, while optimizing for high volume production and meeting cross discipline requirements. - 6+ years of experience including significant time designing structural systems for aerospace.
- 4+ years of experience with structural materials and processes including metals, composites, bonded and bolted joints.
- 3+ years of experience in structural sizing including classical methods (hand calculations) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of primary and secondary structures.


Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate is self-motivated and comfortable operating in a fast-paced development environment.About the team
This team is organized within the satellite mechanical design team to accelerate the design iteration process and ensure on-time delivery of the most stable and successful product possible. The tasks and daily focus change rapidly, and you will often take on new and exciting responsibilities as required to ensure project success. Expect to be deployed to complex problems and novel technical challenges that push you to develop new skills. You’ll be constantly looking for ways to improve your product’s performance, quality and cost.

Basic Qualifications

- 7+ years of new hardware products development experience
- Experience with the project management of technical projects
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- Bachelor's degree or above in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics or equivalent, or Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 1+ years of professional or military experience

Basic Qualifications

- 7+ years in construction site management.
