Description:

1. Ensure safe and steady supply of material to support Fab operations, through effective management of demand fluctuation, complex supply chains (international and domestic, air and sea), forecast monitoring, aging and shelf life review and vendor base. Accomplish both directly and through supervision of buyers.
2. Effectively manage cost and negotiation for raw materials to minimize Samsung TCO while ensuring world best quality and performance.
3. Effectively manage new vendor and material selection and development process through all stages.
4. Manage one or more direct reports responsible for day to day raw material category procurement (chemicals, CMP pads, photo resist, wafers, etc).6. Support continuous improvement initiatives and projects such as internal/external audit; system improvement and innovation; and KPI

Role and Responsibilities

Provide direct leadership within the Raw Materials team in the following areas:
1. People management
- Responsible for direct supervision of one or more buyers and/or materials technicians. Includes day to day operational management of work product and deliverables; setting and managing performance to goals; performance reviews; effective management of days of inventory (shortage/overage prevention, scrap management); price negotiation and management; and support for excursions as needed
2.Administrative/Tactical
- KPI/MBO/reporting tasks to Management through Executive level
- Plan/run meetings (internal
- Managing and generating Business Processes
- Inventory management (stock levels, min/max, shortage and overage prevention)
3. Strategic
- Vendor management through paper and on-site audit, negotiation and contract execution
- Supplier identification, selection and qualification
- Long term forecasting and market understanding
- Project management and TFT coordination for improvement projects


Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum # Years Required:

  • 4 year degree required, Business/Supply Chain or related discipline preferred

  • 5+ years experience in Procurement/SCM role

  • Previous leadership experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, Tools: List MOST important requirements first. Then, list soft skills and desired (but not required), experience:

  • Strong understanding of core supply chain functions, including but not limited to: air/sea/land logistics; RFP/RFQ; MRP and PO management; supply/demand planning; and vendor selection and management

  • MS Office proficiency

  • SAP or similar ERP experience

The current base salary range for this role is between $69,070 - $156,950. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Inventory management for RM Global materials, including PO issuing, days of stock management, logistics coordination and troubleshooting.

  • Supply Chain maintenance and development globally for all assigned materials, including strong understanding of inputs and secondary, tertiary etc inputs.

  • Project management for improvements, cost engineering and other initiatives.

  • Vendor management across performance, responsiveness, order fulfillment and other categories.

  • First line of defense and warning for risk management for under/over stock, shipping delays, quality concerns, geopolitical risk etc.

  • Reporting and data analysis as needed.

  • Developing expertise around materials and corresponding vendors.

  • Coordination and collaboration with internal (Engineering, Material Technology, Logistics, etc) AND external (Vendors, Samsung HQ) stakeholders.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Business/Supply Chain Management (ideal);Chemical/Mechanical/MaterialEngineering, or other related field.

  • Strong proficiency with MS Office (especially Excel); previous experience with ERP and inventory management systems strongly preferred.

  • Strong communication (verbal & written), data analysis, and time management skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Korean language fluency required (written and spoken).

As an Entry level Buyer you'll support data pulls, slide preparation, reporting, analysis, projects and other similar scope projects. You'll report to the Planning Team Supervisor and be responsible for direct pull of data, reporting out to key stakeholders on regular cadence, and interaction with other key stakeholders including DSK Procurement.
You're ability to pull and analyze data but also to present results in reports and presentations will be important.


Here's what you'll be responsible for:

  • Internal data maintenance and regular reporting (ex. weekly days of inventory/shortage reporting, monthly RM Forecast report card, Cost Per Wafer reports, etc).

  • Cost owner for Procurement function across all teams; track/manage/analyze CoEn activity, report out regularly, prepare monthly analysis summary + Exec CoEn presentation, etc.

  • Support internal and external requests for data and analysis, including adhoc request from DS Procurement.

  • Coordinate SOP/certification process across Procurement.

  • Support development and implementation of software, systems upgrades (ex. GSRM →NSRM), new programs (ex. MATS) and other systems-based improvements.

  • Project management for team-wide improvements.
