Description:

We’re looking for a Manager of Employee Relations. This role takes care of conducting employee focused workplace investigations into harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and conflicts of interest and providing proactive solutions to maintain compliance with policies, practices, and values. You will be required to conduct day-to-day investigations in the retail and corporate environment across EMEA.

You need to demonstrate strong leadership behaviors, including instilling trust and self-awareness, and be a subject matter authority in workplace investigations. You must have strong influencing skills with employees at all levels of the organization, communicate effectively and remain calm under pressure in difficult situations, have proven experience in performing complex investigations.

What you will work on!

You will be working with the Employment Law and Employee Relations team to conduct complicated, high-risk workplace investigations. A typical day/week looks like:

  • Conducting employee focused investigations primarily into matters of harassment, discrimination and retaliation (Code of Conduct matters), together with other significant policy breaches.
  • Using Nike’s investigation and case management guidelines to ensure adherence to case management practices, SLAs, and employee experience.
  • Encouraging and maintaining positive relationships with HR, Legal and Business Leaders across the enterprise.
  • Drafting formal investigative reports (in French and English).
  • Communicating investigation findings and providing recommendations (including corrective action) to influence business leaders and partners to make decisions that align with Nike Inc. policies and procedures.
  • Applying analytics to engage in proactive ER practices to reduce the total number of complaints received and to improve organizational health.
  • Operating with integrity, confidentiality and demonstrating good judgment when engaging with others and making decisions; modeling our leadership behaviors every day.

Who you will work with!

You’ll partner with members of the ER team on a day-to-day basis, employees at all levels of the organization (including in retail and corporate), HR and Legal partners and business leaders. You will report to the EMEA Employee Relations Director.

What you bring

  • Substantial professional experience in Employee Relations, investigations, and/or employment law.
  • A solid understanding of employment law, employee and/or labor relations, including working with Works Councils.
  • Deep expertise in conducting complex workplace investigations related to HR policies including discrimination, harassment and retaliation. Investigations into other Code of Conduct policy violations advantageous.
  • Expertise in conducting investigations in different jurisdictions across EMEA, with an understanding of the various local procedural and statutory requirements.
  • Strong influencing skills with proven success in influencing employees at all levels of the organization, across geographically distributed teams, in a consultative methodology.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to objectively mentor employees through complex issues.
  • Organizational skills; including the ability to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines, as well as multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • The ability to collaborate cross functionally, (country, geo and globally) in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Written and verbal proficiency in French and English.

As a Distribution Center Coach, you will lead and influence the input/output of employees' production. You will actively listen and address employees' concerns. You’ll work in harmony with the Flow Support Center in order to make the best business decisions. You’ll process multiple demands to maximize Distribution Center's output. You’ll conduct follow up meetings and be pro-active in assessing the quality of work performed by employees. You’ll provide your team with proper procedures and resources needed to attain results. You will manage your departmental budget; update Production/Status Report daily. Monitor, review and research Kronos and Control Plus reports daily to assure the accuracy of your team production records and paychecks. Maintain high level of floor presence in order to direct the flow of work and make the necessary movement of the team. You’ll counsel employees on conflicting issues while interacting with HR for best solutions and documenting results. Also you’ll attend workflow meetings to plan strategy, discuss pertinent information and share best practices with teammates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or a related discipline and at least 3 years management experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment; or an additional 2 years in lieu of a degree is preferred
  • 3 plus years of experience managing employees required
  • Working knowledge of automated distribution systems, departmental budgets, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • PC skills required, experience with Excel, Word, SAP, DCMS and Kronos would be a plus.
  • Project management skills preferred.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, attentive to details, work well under pressure and able to meet deadlines required.
  • Must possess demonstrated ability to work as a team member, handle confidential matters in a professional manner, and lead and influence others to accomplish operational objectives.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal skills, ability to embrace and promote others' ideas, motivate employees, build and maintain working relationships and stay focused.
  • Must understand and foster a diverse workforce.
  • Able to work overtime with little or no notice before or after scheduled shift.
  • Must have ability to access all areas of the warehouse and be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
