Job Summary:

As a Technology Head, you will lead strategic initiatives to support the China Securities entity, aligning technology with global standards and enhancing onshore operations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Business Engagement: Build strong relationships with the business and corporate functions, understand commercial goals and risk control requirements, and design technology solutions fit China’s securities markets and regulatory environment.
  • Strategy: Collaborate on and influence strategic programs to align with business goals and global technology guidelines. Reinforce stability, resiliency, and controls standard of the firm.
  • Leadership Manage the operations of the onshore tech team. Oversee large-scale technology programs. Communicate effectively across all levels. Accountable for key decisions and issue escalation. Drive team’s continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of the China securities markets and regulations.
  • At least 10 years of experience in information technology.
  • Fulfilment of all necessary regulatory licenses and requirements i.e. China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), Securities Association of China (“SAC”)and other securities regulators.
  • Hands-on development experience in equity trading or equivalent front office trading systems.
  • Experience of managing complex programs and collaborating with global teams.
  • Strong reasoning, influencing skills, and ability to handle multiple priorities.

  • Provide regular updates to Chinese regulators and ensure active participation in business regulatory exams, with a focus on the first line of defense.

Minimum Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and Managing Director with 15+ years of relevant experience in asset management or related fields, with a strong focus on the Chinese market.
  • Deep understanding of risk governance and oversight frameworks, as well as various risk types, including investment risk, market risk, and operational risk, specifically within the context of China.
  • Familiar with China regulatory requirements specific to the asset management business.
  • Exceptional organizational leadership skills, with experience managing diverse teams and operating within a matrix organization structure.
  • Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly and concisely, and proficiency in Mandarin is preferred.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and build strong partnerships, with seasoned negotiation skills and the maturity to manage multiple parties with potentially conflicting interests.
  • Ability to work with individuals at all levels in the organization and contribute to the strategic direction of the firm and the team
  • High degree of initiative, self-direction, and ability to work well under pressure

You bring years of experience being an Assistant while being very adaptable, and welcoming change. Duties also include heavy meeting arrangement; managing multiple calendars and recurring client / team events, submitting expenses via Concur, handling invoices, phone coverage, reviewing incoming correspondence / emails and preparing responses.
