As an Account Officer Vice President in the China Funds Business team, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of relationship with the head offices of key distribution partners.

Job responsibilities:

  • Play a crucial role in growing J.P. Morgan’s relationships with senior decision-makers in central wealth management leadership teams and product research teams of key intermediary distributors, funds consultants and platforms
  • Leverage strong product expertise to manage and drive product focus and sales with key distribution partners on a country level
  • Manage business negotiations with the intermediary distributors on IPO and related daily marketing activities, and developing marketing cooperation plans;
  • Partner with the client advisor team to deliver J.P. Morgan’s capabilities in the locations, and achieve the annual sales targets;
  • Establish and improve channel service and training levels through proper research and evaluation to improve overall satisfaction;
  • Complete other tasks assigned by the manager.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor degree or above, major in management, finance or other related areas;
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in asset management / financial services performing client relationship management and/or sales and distribution coverage
  • Experience in funds product management;
  • Dynamic team player with strong project management skills showcasing the ability to proactively engage multiple stakeholders to meet challenging deadlines
  • Proficiency in verbal and written English

  • Structuring: Once a mandate has been awarded, the role will be assisting with the transaction structuring and execution. As a general matter, this may include detailed quantitative and analytical analysis; cash flow modelling; commercial terms negotiation; and review of legal documentation. Team members interact with a range of external parties including credit rating agencies, transaction sponsors, lawyers, auditing firms, co-arrangers, and co-placement agents.
  • Financing: The role will support originating, evaluating and executing opportunities for J.P. Morgan to act as lender to SPG clients in Asia; often this includes analytical risk analysis, extensive commercial negotiation with clients, preparing materials and coordinate internal risk and underwriting approvals
  • Distribution: The role might also liaise with J.P. Morgan’s Syndicate team and Sales force, who are tasked with identifying institutional investors interested to purchase the bonds/loans created by the SPG Originations team - both in APAC and globally

Required Qualifications:

  • Highly organized, detail oriented, and proactive; strong teamwork skills and ability to work with stakeholders in multi-cultural environments

  • Act as the primary contact for regulatory engagement with Hong Kong Securities & Futures Commission (HKSFC), Mandatory Provident Fund Authority (MPFA) and other relevant regulatory bodies for day-to-day matters and onsite inspections.
  • Represent JPMorgan Asset Management in industry associations such as Hong Kong Investment Funds Association, ASIFMA
  • Partner closely with business personnel to ensure regulatory changes are implemented on a timely basis, including regulations impacting US Registered Investment Advisers
  • Assess compliance and operational risks for new products and business initiatives through the New Business Initiatives Approval process.

  • Provide oversight of Korea onshore client advisors’ coverage of intermediaries and institutional clients.
  • Implement the firm’s operational risk management framework to independently assess the operational risks and control environments, through qualitative and quantitative means, including periodic Hong Kong legal entity assessments, review of performance against key indicators and relevant deep dive reviews.
  • Drive the CCOR monitoring program and collaborate closely with the first line of defence centralized Testing team to define the quarterly testing plans and testing approaches, including liaising with key business stakeholders on the results of any monitoring and testing activities.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in a compliance, control or audit role within an asset management business
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant laws and regulations including but not limited to those issued by the HKSFC, MPFA, US Securities & Exchange Commission etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including effective interaction with senior management
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills with the ability to drive change
