Description:

As an Associate at Data & Intelligence Delivery, you will have the opportunity to contribute to impactful projects within a dynamic team. You will engage in meaningful work by performing data transformation and IT-related procedures that support financial statement audits and integrated audits.

This role allows you to be responsible for delivering high-quality data solutions and actionable insights that support audit’s analytical processes and ensure seamless delivery of data-driven solutions. You will also have opportunities to be involved in IT audit including evaluating IT general control design and operating effectiveness, as well as testing application controls, and examining management controls within an IT infrastructure in conjunction with a financial statement audit, internal audit, or other attestation engagement. You’ll actively establish internal and external relationships between all stakeholders.

What We Look For:

  1. You have a strong academic foundation. A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics and Science, Statistics, or Engineering from a reputable university is essential.
  2. You are a fresh graduate, or you have limited working experience. A minimum GPA of 3.20 out of 4.00 (from reputable universities) is required.
  3. You are fluent in Indonesian and proficient in English (both verbal and written) — this is mandatory.
  4. You are proficient in key Microsoft Office applications, especially Microsoft Excel.
  5. You can work independently and collaboratively under pressure while meeting established goals and deadlines.

Additional Qualifications (good to have):

  • Holds relevant certifications (e.g., CertDA, CISA, etc.) is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting, ERP systems, and IT security is a plus.
  • Digitally aware and understands emerging technologies (e.g., RPA, AI, etc.) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with data analytic tools (e.g., ACL, Alteryx, etc.) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, etc.) is a plus.

UK Independence Team – Risk Management – Independence Senior Associate

The team also oversee the firm’s compliance with the very strict HGF requirements imposed by the FRC and other independence regulators with respect to EY audit clients.

This is a permanent, full-time position based in London or Leeds.

Your key responsibilities

The role will be varied in nature, and whilst the primary focus will be HGF related, it will include the following responsibilities:

  • Analysis of proposed business relationships the UK firm intends to enter.
  • Provision of professional Independence advice to the business
  • Supporting with the ongoing, periodic review and analysis of Independence detect controls in relation to both HGF and business relationships
  • Supporting with the ongoing, detailed monthly review/reconciliations of HGF reports, including handling follow up protocols in order to resolve open matters
  • Supporting Managers, Senior Managers and Directors with the review of HGF related queries and consultations
  • Overseeing the maintenance of the HGF team sharepoint site, including relevant guidance and quick reference guides
  • Creation of MI data reports for the Head of the Business Relationship sub function and other internal stakeholders
  • Oversight of and collaboration with offshore support centre colleagues to ensure outsourced HGF Independence activities are completed timely and accurately
  • Supporting Managers, Senior Managers and Directors with ad hoc Independence tasks, as necessary.

Candidates must possess the following skills and experience:

  • Several years’ experience working in a Risk Management function
  • Strong analytical and interpretation skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Extremely organised and able to assist with and/or manage projects
  • Adaptability and flexibility with good team working skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work to pre-determined deadlines and meet objectives under pressure
  • Ability to think strategically and handle complex concepts
  • Proactive approach and capability of working using own initiative
  • Strong communication ability with colleagues at all levels

Whilst Independence experience is not essential for this role, it would be extremely beneficial. All applicants are expected to have prior risk management experience at either Associate or Senior Associate rank (or equivalent).

Your key responsibilities

Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the EY partners and client facing professionals comply with the relevant personal independence rules and regulations. This will include managing a small team of managers and junior staff with assisting our partners and client facing professionals with personal independence matters. You will also be expected to manage various personal independence projects and processes. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Advising on a broad range of personal independence, investment product and pension consultations
  • Overseeing and monitoring our systems, processes and procedures ensuring that we are meeting our requirements and delivering quality at the highest levels.
  • Leading the partner and employee personal independence audit testing process, liaising with the individuals and reviewers involved, analysing results and any resulting matters to address
  • Managing the resolution, documentation and communication of potential personal independence breaches
  • Key relationship contact for Partner Matters and Talent with regard to onboarding for new partners and employees
  • Identifying trends and hot topics requiring further guidance and training
  • Supporting the UK Independence Leader and Directors on independence related initiatives/campaigns
  • Liaison with UK Firm Communications Team to ensure appropriate messaging to ensure compliance with Independence obligations
  • Supporting UK Independence Leader and Directors with the preparation of matters to be reported to the UK LLP Board and other governance bodies
  • Liaison with EY Global Independence Team
  • Responding to regulatory requests and findings from practice reviews by preparing appropriate reports and action plans, followed by implementation of the proposed actions.
  • Setting clear targets and monitoring performance and progress against timetable.
  • Coaching / mentoring / managing members of the Independence Team
  • Provide training/support to offshore colleagues in EY overseas ‘shared services centres’ in respect of outsourced independence activities, including development of new service offerings, reviewing the output/quality of work they produce and providing feedback as required

A vacancy exists for an Independence Senior Associate within the regulatory, reporting and operations area of the UK Independence team.

  • Oversight of offshore support centre colleagues to ensure certain outsourced Independence activities are completed timely and accurately
