Capital optimization is a critical area for Citigroup and represents a significant challenge facing the financial services industry. Services Capital Allocation and Management, Lead Analyst, will play a critical role in Services’ capital and balance sheet strategy by supporting capital investment at the transaction and client level to align decision-making tools, such as the pro-forma pricing calculator and Citi-wide client returns analytics, with risk and capital related balance sheet platforms and actualized capital requirements and financials. The successful candidate will report to Head of Services BSCM and, over time, become a Capital & Balance Sheet SME, supporting various asset businesses with Services, including TTS Trade and Working Capital Solutions organization and Commercial Cards.
Key responsibilities:
Analyze client pricing and advise on modeling assumptions of transaction returns to support deal-level decision making with Trade & Working Capital Solutions Product and Sales managers
Partner with Client Analytics to drive enhancements to client level RWA, Capital, Tangible Common Equity (TCE) and Liquidity metric calculations in the deal level pricing RoRC Calculator and CIW platform
Ensure enhancements to the RoRC Calculator and Client Returns methodology are made in line with expectations before release, such as enhanced calculations, functionality and usability
Identify inconsistencies in client financials/TCE, Services RWA, and other Services capital metrics (GSST/CECL); escalate systemic issues and create Data Concerns, identify root causes, and influence automated solutions
Optimize eligible new client originations and manage Treasury’s FAS 133 SOFR Cash Flow Hedge program for TTS Trade, in order to help the business realize up to $10MM+ in revenue from reduced liquidity costs
Explore opportunities amongst the Trade and Working Capital Solutions product pillars that can be leveraged to enhance capital and Return on Tangible Common Equity (RoTCE)
Partner with RWA controllers to ensure validity of Top Side Adjustments (TSAs) and take action, where applicable, to reduce or systemically remediate excess capital (e.g. Corporate Guarantees and Collateral)
Liaise with Regulatory Policy and Capital Group (RCPG), Capital Interpretive & Analytics Team (CIAT) and Confirmation of Basel Classification Review and Analysis (COBRA) on RWA and capital actions requiring regulatory interpretation to support capital mitigation opportunities
Provide capital training and develop education initiatives globally, utilizing our partners, for the Services organization to increase knowledge on everything related to RoTCE and capital. Maintain up to date materials and news articles on our dedicated SharePoint for Services
Support on enhancing self-service data tools and encourage wider use among the organization to self-serve data requirements and utilize dashboards
Key Competencies:
Wholesale Credit Orientation: Experience working with Risk / Treasury / Finance and Technology / Operations partners in product management or risk capacity; exposure to RWA, TCE, capital and liquidity measures a plus
Portfolio Management: Understand how TTS’s exposure to client and counterparties combines into the global portfolio and fits into the portfolio’s lifecycle
Proven Data / Analytical skills: Experience turning complex information into actionable recommendations
Analytical Problem Solver: Ability to leverage automated technology solutions to answer business problems, innovation mind set and intellectual curiosity
Partnership and Collaboration Skills: Ability to partner well with a range of stakeholders in the firm to drive objectives to delivery, strong interpersonal skills to identify and resolve conflict to mitigate roadblocks
Design and Delineating: Proven ability to collaborate with managers in creating and presenting effective presentations for seniors
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Computer Science, Math, Financial Engineering, Physics, or related field; advanced degree is a plus
6+ years relevant experience in the Financial Services / Banking industry
Understanding of Risk / Treasury / Corporate Banking functions; exposure to modelling concepts (PD, LGD) helpful
Proven analytical skills for developing data analysis and quantitative strategies
Highly proficient in Excel, macros, and databases
Advanced PowerPoint presentation skills a plus

Key Activities include:
Coordinating interactions with regulators and internal stakeholder, including but not limited to: assisting in providing oversight for supervisory engagement; coordinating and managing events related to examinations and continuous monitoring, including working with businesses and functions in negotiating scope and timing of reviews, monitoring requested data aggregation and coordinating and attending regulatory meetings with control functions and business unit personnel; and collaborating with Business Heads to provide guidance on regulatory matters and continually enhancing the framework to identify, assess, control, and monitor regulatory communication.
Leading and mentoring team members through exam and interaction process by providing expertise on how to best engage with the regulators as well as insight into Services products.
Providing regular updates to management (including preparing business personnel for meetings with regulators) regarding the matters being handled, including, but not limited to, collection, tracking and resolution of queries, review with the area under examination the materials requested to ensure completeness and responsiveness of submissions, and the timely escalation and resolution of potential issues.
Communicating extensively (orally and in writing) and developing effective relationships with regulators.
Establishing and developing effective relationships with Citigroup senior management, front line, second line (including independent risk, finance, HR, and Legal), Internal Audit to obtain information / documentation to respond to regulatory requests proactively and on time with quality.
Analyzing, digesting and summarizing information/documentation responsive to regulatory requests.
Identifying mitigating facts and circumstances (as applicable) to respond to potential issues identified during regulatory engagement, including the various stages of the exam management lifecycle.
Monitoring the full lifecycle of identified regulatory issues ensuring that concerns are communicated, assigned responsibility, and tracked to resolution.
Maintaining the centralized repository where documents are stored and previous regulatory and supervisory findings, reports and similar documents.
Stewarding the drafting of the firm’s Response Letters and coordinating involvement of relevant internal stakeholders such as Technology and Internal Audit on the development of Corrective Action Plans and associated target dates.
Additional duties as assigned.
Domestic and international travel may be required (20%)
Qualifications:
Minimum eight (8) years of relevant experience
Knowledge of the regulatory engagement process or internal audit
Experience leading teams of direct reports and indirect stakeholders
Experience with or previous exposure to internal control functions and regulators within the region, and in particular banking regulators
Must be a self-starter, flexible, innovative and adaptive
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and with people at all levels of the organization
Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to both work collaboratively and independently; ability to navigate a complex organization

As a Lead Analyst in market risk reporting team, you will be taking part in regional and global initiatives focused on risk transformation and dealing directly with senior stakeholders from various groups. The position requires exceptional people with project management skills, a strong work ethic, solid market risk analytic skills, exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and follow up on problems while working under a very tight daily production cycle.
This position will give the individual exposure to:
Contribution to Risk transformation (Automation and enhancement of Risk & Control framework)
Understanding of market risk factors that affect VaR, SVAR, IRC, CRM, Securitization, and Standard Specific Model Risk.
Deal with regulators and auditors to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
Participate in risk committees about internal controls supporting Citi EMEA entities
Understanding the relationship between VaR and the risk factors, volatilities, and correlations that go into the statistical calculation to the point where the VaR can be broken down, analyzed, and potentially corrected.
Develop, leverage, and maintain relationships across varying levels of management and function to ensure a high degree of accuracy in Citi VaR & global market risk
Manage and escalate the follow-ups to reconciliation discrepancies with feed support in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
Utilize the appropriate tools and modern techniques to appropriately visualize the firms market risk exposure
Deliver high quality management reporting to market risk senior management using tools to visualize risk within the entities and provide meaningful insights on the firms risk exposure
Participate in the preparation of market risk inputs to EU & UK regulatory reporting e.g. COREP, Pillar disclosures and daily backtesting processes
Develop an understanding of legal entity/portfolio risk management, financial products and their market risk exposure profiles
Document evolving market risk reporting requirements and work with Risk IT to deliver data and content changes
Identify data quality issues, record them in the firms data quality inventory and ensure they are resolved by collaborating with the central data quality remediation teams.
Qualifications:
8+ years experience working in Risk or Finance.
Experience with visualization tools - Tableau etc. will be mandatory.
Good knowledge of market risk metrics and financial products .
Superior project management & communication skills
A good understanding of data manipulation techniques using industry standard data pipeline tools will be advantageous.
Bachelor’s Universitydegree, preferred in a related science discipline with a master or relevant financial qualification (FRM/CFA) being an advantage.
