Responsibilities:
- Bring the Café experience and our brand to life by helping to create an inclusive environment where all customers and team members feel welcome
- Proactively engage with customers and the community in all areas of the Café whether you’re helping people with tech challenges, showing off our cool services and products, or having deeper conversations about their financial journeys
- Guide customers through goal setting by meeting them where they are and advocating for better financial literacy through discovery and Capital One resources
- Be a team player and work with an energized team of Ambassadors helping to inspire teammates as they inspire you
- Stay curious, adaptable and have a desire to learn and grow through self development
- Continually learn new digital and technical skills
- Partner with local businesses, nonprofits, charities, and the Engagement team to plan events bothinside and outside of the Café
- Volunteer within the community and be an advocate for financial literacy
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent Certification
- At least 1 year of Retail, Sales or Customer Service experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree
- At least 2+ years of Retail or Customer-facing experience
- Proficient in G-Suite
- Strong written and oral communication skills

You will work alongside our talented team of developers, machine learning experts, product managers and people leaders. Our Distinguished Engineers are leading experts in their domains, helping devise practical and reusable solutions to complex problems. You will drive innovation at multiple levels, helping optimize business outcomes while driving towards strong technology solutions.
Distinguished Engineers are expected to lead through technical contribution. You will operate as a trusted advisor for our key technologies, platforms and capability domains, creating clear and concise communications, code samples, blog posts and other material to share knowledge both inside and outside the organization. You will specialize in a particular subject area, but your input and impact will be sought and expected throughout the organization.
Responsibilities:
Articulate and evangelize a bold technical vision for your domain
Decompose complex problems into practical and operational solutions
Ensure the quality of technical design and implementation
Serve as an authoritative expert on non-functional system characteristics, such as performance, scalability and operability
Continue learning and injecting advanced technical knowledge into our community
Handle several projects simultaneously, balancing your time to maximize impact
Act as a role model and mentor within the tech community, helping to coach and strengthen the technical expertise and know-how of our engineering and product community
Drive next-generation technical implementation through the creation of high-level and low-level technical architectures for full-stack applications. Connect high level strategy with low level implementation, going deep into implementation when appropriate
Apply Generative AI for the appropriate business use cases with strong focus on guard rails
Identify and act on opportunities for application reuse and consolidation, both within your domain and by providing or consuming capabilities from other domains or lines of business.
Ensure architecture decisions are clearly reasoned, documented and communicated within your line of business - and across lines of business.
Lead hands-on problem solving activities through the software delivery lifecycle - from planning to maintenance - ensuring that all voices are heard and understood while driving to timely, realistic solutions.
Promote an inclusive culture of engineering excellence and being well-managed - using opportunities to inner source solutions where possible.
Influence Product/Tech/Cyber stakeholders to balance excellence with doing the right thing on key technical decisions.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
At least 7 years of experience with application architecture and design patterns
At least 5 years of experience with architectural patterns (SOA), building APIs, microservices, and event streams
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a Master’s Degree in Software Engineering
10+ years of experience of working with business leaders on the implications of architectural decisions
4+ years building cloud-native architectures and architecting enterprise applications on public cloud platforms and cloud ecosystems (AWS, GCP or Azure)
Experience with GenAI, LLMs, RAG, Vector databases, Agentic frameworks, and MCP server
