Akamai Technologies, Inc. is hiring for the following role in Cambridge, MA (multiple openings): Software Development Engineer in Test. Principal. Perform system-level tests and develop automation for Akamai’s technologies; Utilize distributed system testing experience as well as technical expertise in UNIX/Linux operating systems and HTTP, DNS, TCP/IL technologies, proxy servers, web servers, and caching technologies; Implement an in-depth understanding of SQA life-cycle from functional requirements gathering to the design and execution of automated, manual, and system level tests; Create, maintain, and execute manual and automated integrated product and system tests to replicate real-world scenarios involving complex distributed systems; Develop creative, competent analyses to identify root causes of technical problems and diagnose and debug issues using network tools; and Review bug descriptions, functional requirements, design documents, and code, as well as work closely with developers to design test criteria, develop test plans, and ensure proper documentation of work. Required Qualification:

Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Telecommunications Engineering, plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role. Must have: Two (2) years of experience with the following: Testing large scale distributed systems; Unix/Linux environments; HTML, XML, SQL, CSS, and Javascript; proxy and web server technology including HTTP, DNS, caching, and TCP/IP protocol stack; and scripting technology such as Perl and Python.

Alternately, employer will accept Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Telecommunications Engineering, plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role. Must have: Two (2) years of experience with the following: Testing large scale distributed systems; Unix/Linux environments; HTML, XML, SQL, CSS, and Javascript; proxy and web server technology including HTTP, DNS, caching, and TCP/IP protocol stack; and scripting technology such as Perl and Python.

As a Security Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for:

• Managing the full-cycle process through qualification, needs analysis, product demonstration, Proof of concept (PoC), negotiation and close.
• Being accountable for your sales target and overachieving on that sales target.
• Building customer relationships and qualifying opportunities such that the sales forecast is accurate.
• Working strategically with a Sales Engineer and ensuring their time is used to drive opportunities to closure.
