You’ll drive a step-change in Amazon’s ability to provision, manage and monitor the network.
Key job responsibilities
- Focus on ambiguous problem areas in existing and new interconnect products
- Drive vendors/manufacturers to design new hardware and software features and guide the implementation plans for incorporating them into our products
- Define system level and component level specifications for suppliers
- Work with product owners to identify quality issues of interconnect solutions and drive improvement of them with our vendorsA day in the life

- Bachelors degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Optics or equivalent with 10+ years of experience
- Masters / PhD in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Optics or equivalent with 7+ years of experience
- 7+ years of hands-on experience on optical transceivers
- 5+ years of experience with optical protocols and technologies
- 5+ years of experience on high volume manufacturing processes

- Masters or PhD preferred
- Process engineer with more 15+ years of experience in design and manufacturing of optical transceivers and components
- Well versed in SMT, WB and Die attach, Alignment, Mechanical design, and Fiber attachment processes
- Deeply understand process tolerances and able to correlate them to design.
- Design review on CAD and guide if the design is manufacturable and drive interaction with the design team to modify the design to a highly manufacturable solution
- Schematic and layout review for manufacturability
- Independent leader that can hit the ground day-1 and advise us all aspects of design process development and yield improvement
