Your key responsibilities
- Infrastructure Setup: Define and manage the infrastructure requirements for Apigee Hybrid and Apigee X, ensuring they align with the project’s needs and scalability demands.
- Access management: Manage access to the system for both internal and external user
- Networking Configuration: Configure and maintain networking aspects critical to Apigee’s operation, including DNS configurations, load balancers, and connectivity between Apigee and backend services.
- Environment Management: Set up and manage Apigee environments (e.g., test, staging, production) to support the development lifecycle, ensuring isolation and stability across environments.
- Apigee Deployment: Oversee the deployment of Apigee proxies, shared flows, and API products, ensuring they are deployed correctly across different environments.
- Security Implementation: Implement and maintain security protocols within Apigee, including SSL/TLS configurations, OAuth2.0, API key verification, and access control policies to ensure secure API exposure and consumption.
- Monitoring and Logging: Set up and monitor Apigee’s operational logging and monitoring tools to ensure high availability, performance, and proactive issue resolution..
Skills and attributes for success
- Apigee Expertise: Strong understanding of Apigee Hybrid and Apigee X platforms, including architecture, deployment models, and best practices.
- Cloud and Networking Knowledge: Proficiency in cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS, Azure) and networking principles crucial for Apigee’s operation, including firewalls, load balancers, and DNS management.
- Security and Compliance: Knowledge of security standards and practices relevant to API management, including OAuth2, SSL/TLS, and data protection regulations.
- Monitoring Tools: Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Stackdriver, Splunk) for overseeing Apigee’s performance and troubleshooting issues.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve infrastructure and networking issues promptly.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication abilities to collaborate with development teams, stakeholders, and external partners, ensuring clear understanding of infrastructure requirements and configurations.
- Agile Methodology: Experience working in Agile development environments, with the ability to adapt quickly to changes and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Experience with integration security such as, OAuth, OAuth2 HTTPS (SSL), WS-Security, Signatures and Encryption.
- Experience in API layer like security, custom analytics, throttling, caching, Splunk logging, latency (99th, 95th, median), monetization, and request and response modifications, using APIGEE Platform. SAML, HTTP Basic authentication.
- Experience with CICD Tools (Jenkins, GitHub), good understanding of REST API and JSON, XML.
- Experience in Support engagements across different time zone.
- Experience in supporting engagements using best practices of ITIL service management.
