- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- Experience leading the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
- Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Experience in system level programming
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 5yrs+ experience in professional software development

- Masters or PhD degree in Computer Science
- Experience with implementing database internals or other storage systems
