Job Summary
As Senior Technician, Quality, Laboratory (m/f/d), you will act as a specialist in phenotypic identification of microorganisms. You are responsible for the administration of the local and global microID (microbial identification) projects including resource planning, as well as for routine activities to update and maintain the microbiological reference database of a WEST proprietary application. This also includes the proactive communication of all project and task relevant issues and completion of the project in time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supporting the global laboratory organization in microbiological identification including the use of the internal microID application and induction of program error corrections.
- Writing annual reports and performing frequent trend analysis based on release testing and clean room monitoring data, as well as their technical review.
- Creation of global in-house strain lists.
- Independent planning of projects with management support.
- Tracking of assigned project responsibilities like the schedule planning, the project status and project risks. This includes suggestions to minimize and mitigate risks.
- Planning and documentation of validations in collaboration with the relevant department managers.
- Creating and updating global standard operating procedures.
- Support implementation of the microID application in additional locations as needed.
- Support in further department-related responsibilities especially in the associated experimental areas (monitoring, bioburden and sterility testing, endotoxin testing, particle testing) as well as instrument-based data generation and evaluation as needed.
Education and Experience:
- Successfully completed apprenticeship as technical assistant (BTA) or laboratory assistant/technician
- At least 1-3 years of practical laboratory work experience in a microbiological laboratory
- Familiarity with cGMP compliant documentation
- Basic knowledge of project management
- Confident handling of MS-Office and ideally SAP as well as experience in statistical data analysis
- Very good English language skills, both written and spoken
- Confident communication and presentation in an international, global team
- Structured, routine and independent way of working in the laboratory with high attention to detail
- High level of motivation, reliability, and sense of responsibility
- Interest in flexible daily routines and working hours
- Remote work partially possible
- Willingness to travel for project-related purposes
