About the job

The Instrumentation & Control department is part of AMIL facilities organization, responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of Building Management Systems (BMS) and other I&C systems that support critical infrastructure and operations.

As a Control and Automation Engineer, you will play a central role in shaping and supporting the automation infrastructure of our facility.

You will be responsible for developing, updating and maintaining control software and HMI systems, integrating PLCs, and optimizing BMS.

You will collaborate across disciplines to solve complex technical challenges, contribute to energy efficiency initiatives, and drive improvements in system reliability and performance.

What you'll be doing

• Integrate and troubleshoot Building Management Systems (BMS) from concept to completion.
• Monitor and operate BMS and HMI systems, including setpoint and alarm modifications.
• Develop and maintain HMI visualization tools including graphics and trends for local monitoring.
• Provide visualization and historical data tools to support maintenance teams in troubleshooting and diagnostics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, maintenance, and operations to provide technical support and solutions across various projects and commissioning activities.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and safety regulations.
• Support project managers and contractors during system design and implementation, including supervision of software contractors and integrators in PLC programming and HMI development.
• Participate in system validation and performance testing. Verify system functionality during FAT/SAT/OAT and handover processes.
• Collaborate with AMIL Global Information Services (GIS) to integrate control systems and PLCs into the operational network.
• Contribute to energy efficiency initiatives. Develop tools to monitor power consumption and build SQL-based platforms to support third-party reporting and analysis.

What should you have?

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Control Systems, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in control software and HMI development.
• Proven practical experience in programming, configuration, and integration of industrial PLCs, HMI, and SCADA systems – primarily with Siemens PLCs and Simplicity SCADA platform.
• Practical knowledge of BMS systems and communication protocols (Modbus, BACnet etc.).
• Proficiency in developing and working with control engineering documents: reviewing and implementation of software based on Sequence of Operations (SOO), definition and development of control architecture, IO lists, communication networks, and system interfaces.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, proven ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• High proficiency in English (spoken and written).
• Required to provide on-site or remote support for critical fault resolution, including outside of regular working hours as needed.

• 1 year of experience with data structures or algorithms.

• 3 years of experience in coding or scripting languages (e.g., Python, TCL).
• Experience with front-end design, verification, integration teams on tools’ development, maintenance, or support.

• Experience in CPU or SoC design, debug, and verification flows.
• Experience working with RTL teams and design integration methodologies that improve team productivity and velocity.
• Experience with delivering chip design infrastructure or methodology including multi-HDL model builds and CI/CD systems.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Your Career

This role is client-facing and requires the Senior Consultant to contribute and produce deliverables based on reactive services client engagements. The Senior Consultant will work directly with multiple customers and key stakeholders (Admins, C-Suite, etc) to manage incident response engagements and provide guidance on longer term remediation.

Your Impact

• Perform and contribute in reactive incident response functions including but not limited to: host-based analysis functions through investigating Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X systems to identify Indicators of Compromise (IOCs)
• Examine VPN, firewall, web, database, and other log sources to identify evidence of malicious activity
• Investigate data breaches leveraging Incident Response, cyber forensic, and security orchestration technologies tools to determine source of compromises and malicious activity that occurred in client environments
• Contribute in incident response engagements to scope work, guide clients through forensic investigations, contain security incidents, and provide guidance on longer term remediation recommendations
• Ability to perform travel requirements as needed to meet business demands (on average less than 20%)
• Mentorship of team members in incident response and forensics best practices

Your Experience

• 5+ years of incident response or digital forensics consulting experience with a passion for cyber security
• Experience with complicated engagements including scoping, interfacing with the client, and have executed on a technical front
• Proficient in enterprise-wide, mass data acquisition and analysis on the host and network level as well as solutions for cyber forensic and Incident Response scenarios
• Capability of working on the command line and enhancing automation for Incident Response scenarios
• Incident response consulting experience required
• Identified ability to grow into a valuable contributor to the practice and, specifically
• Have an external presence via public speaking, conferences, and/or publications
• Have credibility, executive presence, and gravitas
• Able to have a meaningful and rapid delivery contribution
• Have the potential and capacity to understand all aspects of the business and an excellent understanding of PANW products;
• Collaborative and able to build relationships internally, externally, and across all PANW functions, including the sales team.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Digital Forensics, Cyber Security or related field or equivalent military experience
• Fluency in German and English
