Responsibilities

• Design and implement back-end services that support the full payment lifecycle: authorization, capture, refunds, and reconciliation
• Integrate with multiple payment providers (e.g. Stripe, PayPal, local APMs) and financial services (e.g. tax engines, fraud detection tools)
• Own critical infrastructure components such as ledgers, transaction logs, wallet management, and settlement workflows
• Build internal APIs used by other product teams for monetization, checkout, and reporting
• Focus on security, compliance (e.g. PCI, GDPR), and observability
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Finance, Legal, and other engineering teams
• Mentor engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence

• 7+ years of experience as a back-end engineer building production systems
• Strong hands-on experience with Node.js (NestJS – a strong advantage)
• Proven experience designing and maintaining distributed systems or microservices architectures
• Solid understanding of event-driven architectures and asynchronous processing
• Deep knowledge of API design, performance optimization, and security best practices
• Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, Redis)
• Experience with CI/CD and cloud-native environments (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, GCP)
• Strong testing discipline, including unit, integration, and E2E tests
• Strong English communication skills

Nice to Have:

• Experience with payment systems , financial flows compliance-sensitive domains.
• familiarity with tax engines (e.g. Avalara), 3DS, or fraud prevention tools

• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to align technology with business goals.

• Oversee development processes to ensure timely delivery of scalable and reliable solutions that meet high-quality standards.

• 5+ years of experience as a Full-Stack Developer, with a focus on Node.js
• 2+ years of React experience with Hooks and advanced components
• Experience with microservices architectures and building scalable backend systems.
• Proficiency in TypeScript , JavaScript , and CSS.
• Deep understanding of web application development and the development cycle, including unit test writing, E2E test writing
• Experience with overseeing Production systems including monitoring, investigations, support, and maintenance.
• Strong skills in building and maintaining RESTful APIs .
• Solid understanding of relational (SQL) and non-relational (e.g. MongoDB) database design .
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and cloud services like GCP

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with CI/CD workflows
• Experience with cross-browser compatibility
• Experience working with cloud infrastructure (services and provisioning)
• Familiarity/Experience with Commerce architecture
• Familiarity with AI development tools such as Cursor or GitHub Copilot
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and message queues like Pub/Sub
