Overview of Job Function:

The Software Engineer is required to take a holistic view and be engaged throughout the development lifecycle. They will participate in and occasionally drive all our R&D activities. Subject to their specialization, they will be involved in the design, development, testing, publishing, and/or support of different cloud-based products and solutions. The role will work closely with a global team of engineers to build robust solutions that meet our business objectives following continuous integration and continuous deployment processes,while providing guidance to associate level engineers. Overview of Job Function:You will manage, lead, mentor and recruit new team members to a multi-disciplinary talented R&D team, that works on strategic enterprise Realtime Analytics products.
You will be responsible for products design and development, code reviews, proof of concepts, troubleshooting, code fixes and full development life cycle of Realtime Analytics products' solutions.
You will collaborate with varied cross-functional stakeholders to understand requirements and business needs, in order to define best software design solutions.
You will work closely with management on departmental issues, with latitude for independent judgment and decision-making within defined guidelines.

Role Purpose

• Designs, implements, tests and documents complex software applications
• Provides effective communication with geographically distributed team members
• Ensures quality through design/code reviews, TDD and BDD practices
• Escalates urgent issues to Engineering Management
• Can provide peer advisement to other Software and Associate Software Engineers, through code/design reviews and peer-programming efforts
• Interacts with Business Analyst to ensure that specifications are satisfied
• Communicates design, reliability and maintenance problems to appropriate internal resources
• A Software Engineer may function in a Support Role with the following added responsibilities:
  • Responsible for debugging, troubleshooting and developing technical solutions in the form of software patches related to software and setup errors
  • Creates workaround solutions when product procedures have failed and ensures issues are resolved in a timely fashion
  • Escalates urgent problems requiring more in-depth knowledge to appropriate internal resources
