What You’ll Do

As an Account Executive within the SAP Academy for Customer Success, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Successfully complete a 10-month learn-apply program, which includes classroom phases and field phases with your sales team, that enhances your support in the role and is a critical customer-facing function within our Customer Success Board Area.
  • Immerse yourself in multi-dimensional, experiential learning focusing on digital transformation, global intelligence, human skills, business and technology acumen, solution/industry knowledge, and strategy/tools/process.
  • Learn how to drive value across the customer lifecycle through solution adoption and ongoing renewals that foster account expansion.
  • Receive onboarding in your local market with on-the-job training and mentoring by a Senior Account Executive in the field. You will be able to work both behind the scenes and directly with customers.

Sales roles in scope: Account Executive (AE), Solution Sales Executive (SSE)

SSE focus areas:

  • SAP Finance & Spend Management (F&S) – Knowledge in key areas such as accounting, procurement, and supplier management, focused on boosting visibility, cutting costs, and improving efficiency.
  • SAP SuccessFactors (Human Capital Management - HCM) - Knowledge in core HR and payroll, talent management, employee experience management, HR analytics, workforce planning, and sales performance management.
  • SAP Supply Chain Management (SCM) - Knowledge in Supply Chain, Asset Management, Manufacturing, Logistics, or Product and Project lifecycle management.
  • SAP Customer Experience (CX) - Knowledge of e-commerce, sales, customer service, and marketing processes.
  • SAP Business Transformation Management (BTM) - Knowledge in Business Process Management/Business Process Automation applications.

  • Lead the planning, design, due diligence, and implementations of strategic business objectives to successfully reach SPM goals for Germany.
  • Manage the full sales cycle. Leverage and coordinate cross-functional ( Industry AEs, other SSEs, VAT, Partners, Services, Product Management) to efficiently navigate complex sales cycles. Act as a trusted advisor in sales cycles.
  • Come with a strong “Hunter” mindset that will support SAPs Customer Value Journey (Explore Potential, Build the Vision, Deliver the Promise, Maximize Value, Innovate and Grow) vision and identify expansion opportunities in our existing customer base.
  • Own/provide direction to strategic account plans - including customer profiles and targeted programs by working closely with the MU/regional sales, marketing, Pre-Sales, and SPM team members.
  • Assist in creating and executing on demand generation programs within the region to support SPM budgetary goals.
  • Partner across SAP Industry AEs, Industry Business Units (IBUs) and LOBs to build and expand relationships with key executives and decision-makers. Be an evangelist on must-win SPM accounts.
  • Develop category, industry or regional specific points of view, methodologies, best practices, and growth strategies that can be repurposed across the region to drive better outcomes for customers and SAP.
  • Develop and deploy enablement sessions for internal and partner sales teams to supplement and grow their selling skills.
  • Assist the Customer Success Partners and Renewal reps in analyzing and securing SPM renewals and drive increased transactional SPM upsell revenue and compliance.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • 5 to 7 years of meeting\exceeding quota (at a SaaS provider is a plus). Leads disciplined sales processes including pipeline growth and accurate forecasting.
  • Experience in selling (cloud solutions is a plus) with a strong focus on both generating new business and growing existing business.
  • Strong expertise and experience in selling (Sales Performance Management is a plus) solutions to C-Suite and Business Teams across Sales, Sales Operations, Finance, and IT. Expertise in key industries include Retail, High Tech, Telecom/Utilities, and Life Sciences is a plus.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE, YOU MUST BE ABLE TO

  • Harmonize and distill complex and disjointed data points (competitive / industry trends, enterprise processes around total compensation and Sales Performance Management, SAP product knowledge and limitations) into strategic positioning.
  • Have an individual sales leadership mentality: Must be an accomplished senior sales professional with sound reputation and a successful track record in leading sales processes by leveraging internal resources to amplify SAPs capabilities.

In this position, you will not only prepare financial statements, tax returns and tax accounting, but you will also leverage your expertise in IFRS, local GAAPs, tax laws and technical accounting to manage local reporting and tax compliance for multiple entities. You will engage in cross-functional projects, contribute to automation initiatives, and gain exposure to complex topics.


• Prepare and Coordinate Tax Returns: CIT, VAT, WHT and other taxes, ensuring compliance with tax laws and identification of deductible and non-deductible items.

• Manage Tax Accounting: Perform periodic tax accounts maintenance and reconciliation, in compliance with IAS 12.

• Prepare Financial Statements: Following IFRS and other GAAPs, ensuring identification of differences between IFRS versus local GAAPs.

• Collaboration: With internal and external stakeholders including CFOs, Local Chief Accountants, Local Tax Managers, Treasury, Controlling, internal and external auditors, Government and Tax Authorities.

• Continuous Improvement: Support the automation and standardisation of tax returns and financial statement preparation in accordance with SAP's strategy to streamline processes, improve efficiency and ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Tackle Complexity: Provide expertise and solutions and dive into complex topics like transfer pricing, global minimum tax, hyperinflation, M&As etc.

• Technical Analysis: Research and prepare technical memorandums to address scenarios supporting the rationale for the tax and accounting treatments at subsidiary level.

• Qualified tax advisor or qualified accountant with at least 6 to 8 years of hands-on experience in preparing tax returns and/ or financial statements.

• Deep professional experience in tax compliance, tax accounting and application of IFRS.

• Able to articulate viewpoints with excellent communication skills.

• Assertive and able to work both independently and within a global team.

• Fluent in spoken and written English (other languages are a plus).

• Excellent in MS Excel, knowledge of tax and accounting-related functionalities in SAP ERP is a plus.

• University degree in finance, tax, accounting or audit (CPA/ CA/ ACCA/ ATT/ CTA/ ADIT a plus).
