As a Principal Civil Engineer you will play a role in providing design leadership and discipline integration of projects delivered by our Cities & Places business unit. Using technical experience and excellent people skills, you will manage projects and guide / mentor less experienced civil engineers to produce designs and associated deliverables for projects. The role will provide a client facing opportunity for projects and ensure that Jacobs maintains the highest technical standards, levels of service and quality.

As a member of the Site Development design team, you will play a crucial role in the delivery of technical solutions, balancing commercial, technical, and mentoring responsibilities. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality technically excellent solutions and the seamless sharing of information with other discipline teams, as well as representing Jacobs in liaising with clients, architects and other design team members.

Contribute to the delivery of diverse programmes and projects at various stages of the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities:

• Contributing to the growth of the business through identifying, developing and delivering new workstreams and services.
• Contributing to the growth of the team delivering Water Technical project work and securing future frameworks and projects.
• Technical development and delivery of wastewater catchment strategies and solutions (including hydraulic modelling and analysis, model use studies, optioneering and cost-benefit analysis studies, to time, budget and the quality).
• Responsible for and reporting of technical performance, forecasting and risk management
• Continuous improvement of tools, procedures and processes to drive efficiency and innovation
• Production of bids and proposals.
• Travelling to client offices may be required
• Line Management of project team members with responsibility for: day-to-day leadership and direction for team, workload planning, driving staff performance, and career development.
• Working with other regional wastewater networks discipline leads.
