You’ll be based in Dublin or the surrounding area, with the flexibility to work from home and the expectation to be in the office or on client sites at least two days per week.

As Senior or Principal Drainage Engineer, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Drainage Discipline Lead in delivering drainage design services across all stages of project development. You’ll work closely with colleagues in Ireland, the UK, and globally to ensure technical excellence and seamless coordination. You’ll also help develop junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of our drainage capability.

BusConnects is a strategic national-level intervention for Ireland that will enhance sustainable transportation and the environment by upgrading walking, cycling and bus infrastructure in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway, and Waterford.

We have been appointed by the National Transport Authority (NTA) as their Client Partner to deliver Dublin’s BusConnects infrastructure. This will include providing programme management and multi-disciplinary expertise over a 10-year programme to deliver 12 schemes comprising 230 kilometres of continuous bus priority corridors and 200 kilometres of cycle paths and improved pedestrian facilities from procurement through to handover of this new infrastructure. The role would suit someone from a civil engineering background with specific experience on highways/roads.

The NEC Project manager is responsible for Impartial contract administration. Any prospective candidates should have experience of:

• Scope Development: Candidates must have experience in developing scope and contract documents with design teams. Assisting in tender processes under relevant regulations is a plus.
• Construction Phase Administration: Key skills include issuing work variations, handling Compensation Events (CEs), and meeting NEC deadlines.
• Pre-Contract Administration: Candidates should be adept at managing contracts as an employer's agent, with a strong understanding of NEC3/NEC4 Works Information/Scope.

We’ll Expect You To:

• Provide water quality and regulatory advice and strategy to municipal clients

• Support regulatory negotiations with the Washington State Department of Ecology

• Provide reviews of deliverables

• Provide mentoring to other Jacobs staff

The principal function of this role is as a student engineer to assist other engineers on bridge structures engineering projects in the APME region and to learn from the experience gained. The learning of the student is as important as the work undertaken on projects, plus the long-term goal to retain the person as a longer-term employee following university studies. Someone who can be independent and with strong team participation skills is required, given they will be based in the Middle East for 6 months to 1 year.

Working closely with the Project Manager you will be the controlling mind over the engineering and technical delivery across all aspects. Design Managers are accountable for all aspects of the day-to-day engineering and technical delivery of work on specific projects. They support the technical interface between the Project and the engineering and technical disciplines, providing direction, guidance, and support as required. The DM is responsible for delivering a safe design, ensuring the scope is well-defined, and that there is a clear understanding of the project schedule and the budget for each activity to be carried out by each discipline. Ensures that individual design disciplines are functioning as an integrated team and that the technical output is fully coordinated.
