As Senior or Principal Drainage Engineer, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Drainage Discipline Lead in delivering drainage design services across all stages of project development. You’ll work closely with colleagues in Ireland, the UK, and globally to ensure technical excellence and seamless coordination. You’ll also help develop junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of our drainage capability.

Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

The principal function of this role is as a student engineer to assist other engineers on bridge structures engineering projects in the APME region and to learn from the experience gained. The learning of the student is as important as the work undertaken on projects, plus the long-term goal to retain the person as a longer-term employee following university studies. The position demands a mature attitude and willingness to participate/learn. Someone who can be independent and with strong team participation skills is required, given they will be based in the Middle East for 6 months to 1 year.

Would be expected to work under the supervision and guidance of experienced Senior Bridge engineers.

The key priorities in this role will include but not be limited to:

• Strong Interest in Structural and Bridge engineering design. Ambition to have a long-term career in this field.
• Basic understanding of design methods and calculations, design drawings, technical Report writing.
• Strong outside interests and ability to operate in team events.

As a Design Manager within our Transportation business, you will undertake a key role in delivering our clients’ requirements. Working closely with the Project Manager you will be the controlling mind over the engineering and technical delivery across all aspects. Together with the Project Manager you’ll control budgets for projects, escalation points, key milestones and targets including time, cost, quality and safety to ensure that objectives are achieved in line with programme plans.

Design Managers are accountable for all aspects of the day-to-day engineering and technical delivery of work on specific projects. They support the technical interface between the Project and the engineering and technical disciplines, providing direction, guidance, and support as required. The DM is responsible for delivering a safe design, ensuring the scope is well-defined, and that there is a clear understanding of the project schedule and the budget for each activity to be carried out by each discipline. Ensures that individual design disciplines are functioning as an integrated team and that the technical output is fully coordinated.
