Job Summary:

The Project Director for Infrastructure with a focus on site supervision is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of road and bridge construction sites. This role ensures that construction activities are executed according to design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines, while coordinating closely with contractors, engineers, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocations and procurement strategies.

• Coordinate and oversee construction activities, ensuring adherence to project schedules and specifications.

• Evaluate and select contractors and subcontractors based on qualifications, experience and cost-effectiveness.

• Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on project status to stakeholders.

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and legal requirements, prioritising a safe working environment for all involved.

• Manage construction project documentation, including contracts, permits, drawings and change orders.

• Conduct regular meetings to facilitate communication, address challenges and to meet project objectives.

• Provide regular updates and reports on project status, including milestones, budget updates, and any significant developments or risks.

• Implement and enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.

• Carry out thorough project evaluations and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary corrective measures.

• Provide leadership and guidance to the project team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

Safety & Quality Control:

• Enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards on-site.

• Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure quality workmanship.

• Implement traffic control and public safety measures during construction.

• Coordination & Communication:

• Liaise with design teams, contractors, and government authorities.

• Conduct site meetings and provide updates to senior management and stakeholders.

• Coordinate the delivery and use of materials, equipment, and labor.

Main Role Responsibilities:

• Technical 2D and 3D model and drawing production utilising appropriate tools and software (such as Civil 3D and AutoCAD), within a team of technical staff.
• Support strong service delivery to all internal clients
• Takes responsibility and accountability for work activities and coordinating design efforts
• Prioritise market objectives and distribute work across the team of Digital Delivery Technicians
• Liaise with internal and external clients, as required
• Maintain high work standards, minimise production errors and attention to detail

Primary Operational Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively with Digital Delivery Leads, delivering in line with Jacobs BIM Standards
• Use the Content Library appropriately to supervise and approve BIM Objects in compliance with market/client/Jacobs BIM Standards.
• Accountable for Quality Assurance / Quality Control process.
• Supply information for use in Coordination Meetings and attend as required.
• Identify and escalate risks as required.
• Listens effectively and clearly presents information. Fosters honest, open and transparent communication.

The USVI Office of Disaster Recovery, a division of the Virgin Islands Public Finance Authority, has entrusted us with the critical task of managing and supporting federally funded recovery projects across the U.S. Virgin Islands. Our work will involve overseeing the reconstruction of key educational, healthcare and infrastructure projects, all of which were severely impacted by Hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017. We are looking for a highly collaborative Infrastructure Project Manager who will be responsible for the management and overall execution of the infrastructure projects of this multi-billion dollar disaster recovery program. In this crucial role, you’ll oversee and optimize the flow of services and information within Jacobs and the US Virgin Islands program. Based at the client site in the US Virgin Islands, you’ll be responsible for managing and collaboration with the project teams and overall program delivery for the infrastructure sector. This will include the management of the project stakeholders, project development from conception through completion in accordance with the program objectives and coordination of infrastructure managers across all projects. You will manage, provide oversight, and facilitate resolution to complex project related challenges.

As the Infrastructure Project Manager (Roads/Drainage), you’ll play an integral role in mentoring staff, forming long-term relationships with clients, and pursuing new work, including strategy development, positioning, proposing, and negotiating contracts. You’ll provide effective, skilled project management to help reduce the costs of delivering projects while adding value to the business by applying proven project management techniques.
