As abased inyou’ll join a collaborative team providing wastewater treatment services for our client and the city of Baton Rouge. Under supervision, you will perform a variety of tasks associated with learning the associated responsibilities of a certified wastewater operator – in preparation for receiving an entry-level certification.

Essential Functions:

• Operates valves and gates either manually or by remote control, starts and stops pumps, engines and generators, by-pass pumps to control and adjust flow and treatment processes
• Collects process samples as assigned; enter information into chain of custody and utilizes sample tracking tool for all samples collected
• Performs process control sampling and analyses
• Maintains records for daily operations of facilities in daily log and on daily plant check sheets
• Completes tasks detailed on daily check sheets. Observes general operating conditions, and reports issues immediately to supervisor
• Performs other duties as required
• Cleans vehicles, heavy equipment, bar screens, comminutors, weirs, digesters, pumps, tools, and other stationary and portable equipment
• Performs routine inspection of vehicles and equipment; preventive and corrective maintenance tasks as assigned and assist maintenance staff with larger corrective maintenance tasks as assigned
• Fluent with writing work orders, entering work order data and completing work orders in maintenance management system. Uses Maintenance Management system to accurately reflect/record daily maintenance activities
• Maintain good housekeeping on plant grounds and inside buildings

As an, you’ll have the opportunity to join one of our
Alberta offices (Calgary or Edmonton)and work on transportation projects that focus on bridge and other transportation structure design. Each day you will work with a team of technicians and engineers to create drawings and simulations using software tools and resources supporting our clients’ overall project goals. Using your experience, you’ll work with bridge engineers and project managers to provide top client service.

You’ll also create layouts, sketches, and 2D/3D modeling and electronic drawing files for construction by utilizing Microstation, AutoCAD, OpenBridge Designer, OpenRoads, Civil3D and other firm-provided resources to create detailed drawings of transportation structures.

Based throughout Western Canada, this position may have the opportunity to be fulltime based on workload or skillset and will begin in the spring. As an, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading field crews for multiple survey scopes, including data collection efforts, managing multi-person crews of various experience and scope, liaising with client field contacts, assisting with the development of methodology, and some technical writing. While field-based wildlife studies will comprise the majority of work, the Intermediate Wildlife Field Biologist could also be required to support other biophysical disciplines as needed.
