As abased inyou’ll join a collaborative team providing wastewater treatment services for our client and the city of Baton Rouge. Under supervision, you will perform a variety of tasks associated with learning the associated responsibilities of a certified wastewater operator – in preparation for receiving an entry-level certification.

Essential Functions:

• Operates valves and gates either manually or by remote control, starts and stops pumps, engines and generators, by-pass pumps to control and adjust flow and treatment processes
• Collects process samples as assigned; enter information into chain of custody and utilizes sample tracking tool for all samples collected
• Performs process control sampling and analyses
• Maintains records for daily operations of facilities in daily log and on daily plant check sheets
• Completes tasks detailed on daily check sheets. Observes general operating conditions, and reports issues immediately to supervisor
• Performs other duties as required
• Cleans vehicles, heavy equipment, bar screens, comminutors, weirs, digesters, pumps, tools, and other stationary and portable equipment
• Performs routine inspection of vehicles and equipment; preventive and corrective maintenance tasks as assigned and assist maintenance staff with larger corrective maintenance tasks as assigned
• Fluent with writing work orders, entering work order data and completing work orders in maintenance management system. Uses Maintenance Management system to accurately reflect/record daily maintenance activities

As a member of our Environmental Solutions group, you will bring a combination of environmental planning expertise and cultural awareness to support environmental assessments, permitting, and engagement efforts. You will work collaboratively across project teams to ensure Indigenous perspectives are thoughtfully integrated into project planning and delivery.

We’re seeking an intermediate Professional Geoscientist or Professional Engineer to support brownfield re-development projects, implementing characterization and remediation solution services for industrial and government clients. You’ll apply your technical experience in environmental characterization and remediation to plan and execute tasks while championing safety and quality.

The preferred candidate will be based in Calgary or Edmonton with the flexibility to work independently at home or in teams at the office. You’ll aid in the planning and execution of field investigation activities, interpretation of data, and preparation of Phase I & II reports, conceptual site models, and other technical reports. You will support execution of the project including subcontractor procurement and oversight, environmental sample collection (such as soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, and soil vapour), and reporting. Based throughout Western Canada, this position may have the opportunity to be fulltime based on workload or skillset and will begin in the spring. The role includes application of technical expertise in the provision of contaminated sites assessment, risk assessment, and physical and contaminant hydrogeology at operating and non-operating facilities across Canada.

This key role will be supporting the growth and building the technical capability of the Canadian environmental team.
