In this role you will be responsible for providing excellent consultancy, design and engineering services in the Northern Australia portfolio - Cairns, Darwin and Townsville – as well as to the wider Jacobs business across Australia and New Zealand. You will collaborate with commercial, project management and technical leaders to create opportunities for Jacobs to plan, develop, deliver and operate a range of projects within the water infrastructure and associated markets. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide design and drafting support for project teams.
• Ability to coordinate design documentation deliverables across disciplines.
• Coordinate the setup of projects on data sources and manage user access.
• Provide technical input within the design team.
• Attend and participate in project meetings.
• Effective communication both internally within the business and with external clients.
• Support and promote strong service delivery to internal and external clients.
• Promote and participate in resource sharing opportunities.
• Support Project Managers in managing operational risk, HSE, and quality.

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in analysing and assessing soil and rock properties to determine their behaviour under various conditions. Your expertise will be instrumental in designing foundations for structures, evaluating slope stability, and providing solutions for complex ground-related challenges. You'll be involved in all stages of projects, from initial site investigations to final design and construction support.

Your responsibilities will include conducting field investigations, interpreting geotechnical data, performing advanced soil and rock mechanics analyses, and developing detailed design recommendations. You'll collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including civil engineers, structural engineers, hydrologists, and environmental specialists, to ensure comprehensive and innovative solutions for our clients.

In this position, you'll have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, such as highways, bridges, slope assessments, deep excavations, retaining structures, and ground improvement techniques. Your expertise in geotechnical software and your ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical engineering problems will be highly valued.

As a senior member of the team, you'll also play a vital role in mentoring junior staff, sharing your knowledge and experience to nurture the next generation of geotechnical engineers. Your guidance will be crucial in developing their technical skills and professional growth.

As a key member of our Atlanta team, you'll be involved in data collection and analysis, development of database and GIS applications, development and application of hydraulic models.
