• Provide expert-level product support for IBM customers across the globe
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve escalated technical issues from customers.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions for recurring issues.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
• Collaborate with multiple Development squads, SRE, and Support Engineer teams to resolve complex technical issues.
• Provide mentoring and training to support engineers (L2).

Act as a subject matter expert for specific technologies or systems related to the product.

Required Professional and Technical Expertise

• Strong experience as a non-spring boot Java developer.
• Experience with troubleshooting software, and network issues.
• Hands on coding experience with Java, NodeJS and Python.
• Proficiency in SQL, Linux, Kubernetes, OpenShift
• Excellent communication skills to interact with stakeholders and report on technical issues clearly.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Demonstrated Java backend coding experience without using Spring Boot.
• Demonstrated excellence in problem-solving, with the ability to tackle complex issues and find effective solutions
• Strong knowledge of Integration technologies, cloud computing, Software Development methodologies
• Knowledge of Agile methodology
• Prior experience in a customer-facing debugging, troubleshooting/etc role.

Key responsibilities:

• Analyze complex issues in a disciplined manner and clearly communicate solutions and workarounds to customers.
• Serve as the primary technical interface, coordinating customers and/or IBM representatives.
• Provide recommendations for improvements to existing technical support tools, procedures, and processes.
• Monitor system health using observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.).
• Manage infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform.
• Collaborate with SRE and Engineering teams e.g. for knowledge transfer of new services/technologies.

*This position is Monday to Friday with flexibility to work an occasional Saturday or Sunday for holiday coverage*

• 3+ years of experience working directly with customers.
• 5+ years of experience with Mongo and PostgreSQL experience (e.g. Database Administrator).
• Database administration skills ( e.g. Backup and recovery strategies, Performance tuning and optimization such as Query optimization and indexing).
• Programming/Scripting experience e.g. Terraform/Ansible.
• Strong knowledge of Linux systems and networking fundamentals.
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration.

• Database Certifications e.g. IBM DB2, Oracle.
• Solid experience creating technical documentation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage incidents.
